My Comp is p bad

So I got a i5 750 w/ a 6670 right now and although I pull like 500 fps in tf2, it's pretty bad in any other game.

Other specs off of the top of my head include:

some gigabyte mitx mobo
4gb mushkin ram
30gb ssd
500gb samsung f3 or something
i5 750
radeon 6670
Seasonic X650 gold

what would the best upgrade be? I'd rather not upgrade the cpu as mitx motherboards are quite expensive for what you get, and since I'm pretty sure it's my cheap ass gpu which is causing most of the performance loss.

EDIT: I was thinking of getting a radeon 7870, will my cpu bottleneck it? Oh, and I'd prefer to stick with AMD with video cards as I have had much better experiences with them.

You know most people would probly stab you for saying your comp is pretty bad.

For the most part the vid card. But depending on "some gigabyte mitx mobo" it could come down to your core as well. Regardless vid card would probly help if not just buying a second 6670 and SLI. The ladder would be to overclock or upgrade your cpu. But yea the vid card seems to be your culprit.

On second thought, what does it do in other games? Like fps for BF3 or something.

I had an Asus mATX motherboard that could pull my i7 870 to 3.6, with HT off I could do 4.0 on it. I'm sure with a nice aftermarket cooler, you can push your i5 750 to the 3.8-4.0 range. Intel left AMD in the dust in single threaded performance with the i5/i7 series. Just get a nice video card too and you're good to go.

tf2 doesnt need a good video card at all

other games generally do especially when eye candy is turned up

my radeon HD 5770 does tf2 pretty damn well considering it's a mediocre card by non-gamer standards

pulling 500FPS in TF2 says a lot about your CPU's performance on a single thread, not your video card. if you want more FPS in games that are GPU intensive, get a better card. Simple enough?

I don't get how all these people can call their computers bad when they're desktops made in the last 4 years. There are so many people on subpar laptops and computers that were made before TF2 even came out. Most people have upgraded, but honestly I upgraded from a single core athlon and a 9800 GS to a phenom ii and radeon 4850, which is way worse than either of your computers.

I have a Sapphire HD4890 and I get 500+ fps. I really don't think it's your GPU that's limiting you. Consider M4risa's advice and get a good heatsink so you can overclock, otherwise you'll be having to upgrade the cpu+mobo.

uh I'm just wondering what I should upgrade guys. Yeah and I got watercooling so that's why I don't want to replace the cpu. I was looking at the 7870, but I'm worried about whether my cpu would bottleneck or not.

6gb 1066 ram

About the same here,

AMD athlon II x2 dual core 3ghz
NVIDIA geforce 9800
4gb ram

500fps in TF2...I can't even pull a constant 60 at midfights.

Even though my new PC just came in, I used to pull 30-100 fps using max frames, 680x480 res setting.

I just find it annoying how arrogant you're being "my pc is p bad".

You're PC isn't bad at all..
