likohi, does anyone have access to the ctap script and would be willing to share it? saw someone using it and figured I'd ask

I've used google.
It binds Mouse2 as your crouch, and Mouse1 (after you click Mouse2) to immediately +attack and +jump, once you press Mouse1 it changes Mouse1 back to just +attack.

basically i'd only have to look at the ground, press mouse2, then mouse 1 and it would do the magic for me? if its this simple I don't see why someone wouldn't want to share it with me (he had been asked to keep it private or something)
but thanks i'll try this out when I get home 8)

im actually pretty good at rocket jumping but as i've mentioned before, I saw someone using it in scrims and it was extremely effective due to the height + speed they'd reach so I figured I'd try it out
dont judge me before you see me playing tho :p

you've still gotta time it, it's just less awkward

of course its effective, however I strongly disagree with the use of this script. But whatever makes you satisfied is good enough.

Edit: The one redd0t posted works better. Just remove the "bind space +crouchjump"

there are no ctap scripts because there is no wait command anymore

I made a script using razer synapse to ctap. I use a zowie mouse so I don't use it anymore but I'm fairly sure Mangachu still uses it. That being said don't add me or him to get it we won't share it for obvious reasons. It was more of a hey, I can do this so let's try.

Why don't people learn to ctap normally? It is really useful and not that hard to learn... There are tutorials on youtube with a fuck load of views.

i've only seen one script that reliably produces ctaps, and it's super super awkward to use imo
it can't be done with tf2 scripting without wait

If anyone wants to do this, find a script for it with wait commands, try it out on a listen server with net_fakelag 25 to make sure it works, and then recreate it in a macro program like AutoHotkey, wait 30 for example just means 30ms between commands, so you can have your AutoHotkey macro setup to press your normal binds. (e.g. ctrl (crouch), x ms, spacebar (jump), mouse1 (fire).

It's literally tapping crouch and jump+shoot right after. Using a script or macro for this just feels like cheating to me.

Why not switch your main to Engie and let the game play itself for you while you're at it.

Easier to just learn it lol

Eh, it's not like normal rocket jumps where you want manual control over height and distance. I can ctap manually, and hit it every time, but I can't get the maximum height and difference EVERY time, which a macro can.

My mouse2 is my crouch button so its easier to ctap for me. honestly its not hard at all once you actually practice it every once in a while and work on timing.

A script wouldn't actually work unless your ping is 0 or constant anyway. If you actually end up jumping higher than you usually do it's because you weren't rocket jumping correctly in the first place.

Why is everyone so adamant about learning it? If in the end they achieve the same goal and it doesn't hurt their jumps, why not?

lag definitely has an affect on ctapping. idk how it works, or why, but it does. good luck making a script though, as i dont think theres a way to make it perfect. based on my experience you have to time it differently based on whether you want to achieve max height or max distance. im pretty sure you have to change the timing for long jumps or high jumps or inbetween etc.

Wouldn't a ctap macro literally be this script:
// eXiGe's Fast Perfect Crouch Tap for 200 fps cap
alias pct "+duck;wait 4;+attack;wait 8;-duck;+jump;wait 15;-attack;-jump"
bind mouse2 pct
but instead of wait you'd put in ms delays? 20,40 and 75 respectively since those are the equivalent ms delays for 4,8,15 frames @200fps. Maybe I'm missing something here but it sounds pretty easy.

What do you mean?? The null-canceling thing? Don't really know how that should affect your hitbox in the slightest.
