to ragorism: I can't speak for anybody else who's bothered by what he did, but I personally watched ruwin's stream basically every day, and when he pulled this shit, I wasn't willfully subjecting myself to it or anything. That's the thing with livestreams; they're live. He's normally entertaining and inoffensive, and I really enjoyed watching his stream. Obviously if he starts again I won't be watching, but prior to this whole debacle, it's not like he was the resident asshole of the tf2 community or anything. He was just an eccentric dude who had a really entertaining stream and I happily tuned in every day.
I don't disagree with you that you should steer clear of stuff that offends you, but this blindsided me, personally. And yeah it bothers me. Sorry for having some empathy. I'll go back to policing everybody along with my fellow members of the "hurt feelings gestapo".

besides, the biggest misstep that ruwin took is honestly how he handled this whole thing. a 20 minute tangent that can be summed up as "don't like? don't watch. also if you have feelings then you're a nerdvirgin. i quit." is not how someone should react to something like this. i understand that the whole rant was probably fueled by him being upset at the people who keep calling him washed up and making fun of him for being cut or whatever (and rightfully so, i would be pretty upset by that myself), but just taking a day or two to chill out would have been a lot smarter.
