New main menu update to coincide with the custom MOTD stuff Rays/Kuni/Sezco done did.

Pictures go lookit

I added a new file called mainmenuoverride_new.res, which makes the MOTD look like this:

You also need to have the stuff setup from sezco's thread. Go to his thread and get the files and such.

Yeah, I never included my file because it's a cfg file. I thought that unnecessary.

Here's mine if you want it, it has 2 entries, 1 for huds.tf and the other for more links, which I haven't properly edited yet, so fill it with whatever you like.

Although nothing has ever come from the use of fonts in custom HUDs so far and Whahay seems a little nudged by something to bring it up so badly, I thought I'd cover my ass anyway, although I don't see it ever becoming a problem.

Also, for people who have been asking, I am working on 4:3 scoreboards. For some reason, they're dumb as hell depending on what resolution of 4:3 you're using so I guess I'll have to find an alternate solution to this problem.

Pushed another update. I wanted it to be a bigger update but unfortunately I don't have time to finish it off, and if I forget to pile the files together that I've edited today, I'll forget them altogether.

Basically updated a whole load of MvM panels to be designed like the rest of the HUD. Still editing the loot panel that appears at the end of Mann Up Mode, unfortunately recording a demo of that panel doesn't work so I can only edit it once I beat a map in Mann Up.

I changed a whole bunch of Dialog boxes that appear in the HUD as well, mostly anything to do with adding/removing things onto items, such as paint and decals. A few of them have been missed (killstreaks/gift wrap/keys to open crates) because I don't have those things to currently test.

The easiest fix is to replace Open Sans with Open Sans Semibold, as the Semibold weight doesn't have this issue and won't result in as much displaced text as larger sizes or other weights. You might only have to do this when the "height" value is 12, but who knows.

Unfortunately, with that win panel, it only appears on servers modded to show it. That win panel is usually the Arena one, and when you win or lose in arena, the health, ammo, etc. all disappear from the HUD, but when outside of arena, they don't unload.

I might see if I can find a server that uses that winpanel and work around it.

Change those numbered values to be different from each other and the text will flash. You'll need to re-open TF2 for it to take effect if you've already got the game open

Remember the fonts "disappearing" problem I mentioned earlier on the thread? So yeah, I found more places where this is also happening. I found it on the MvM buy upgrades panel (in the description of upgrades) and on the competitive spectator scoreboard (that one that shows the health, uber etc when on competitive, the same glitch that happened to the 'normal' scoreboard).

Can you guide me to "fixing" this? Thanks! I can post screenshots if you need, bye!

I know the font sizes this is probably happening with the most, and it's sizes 8 and 10. That's because these are tiny. Best way to fix this problem temporarily (I guess) is to open up resource/ClientScheme.res and find:
Noto8
Noto10
NotoSemibold8
NotoSemibold10
NotoBold8
NotoBold10
NotoLight8
NotoLight10
NotoExtrabold8
NotoExtrabold10
And replacing all their "tall" values with 12

However, due to some HUD panel sizes, 12 might cut off the bottom of some of the text. But unfortunately, there's not much I can currently do about it. This is the best option, I'm afraid.
