try enabling the aero mode thing in your video options, if its not enabled. or if its enabled, disable it

i can launch fullscreen 1280x720 and tab in and out just fine

i have now found out that when launching with default hud everything works
i guess it was just rays hud???
but that doesnt really make sense because ive used rayshud b4 and never had this problem

ok this got ever weirder
like 1 minute ago i was launching with wonderlands instructions of

and the problem persisted
i then deleted my hud and it worked
then with default hud i put -refresh 144 back in and it didnt work
removed -refresh 144 and it worked again
added hud back without 144 and it works

ya i was going to say put your hud back and see if it works cause that made no fucking sense.
but then I was like whatever as long as its fixed lol.

im not too clear on the difference -freq and -refresh and which works in this game etc btw ;o
but you probably don't need it, it will just use desktop settings

take that out, the mumble issue should be gone, that command blows

everything but -novid, -console is useless there, just put -dxlevel, and fullscreen, noborder (these last 2 if needed) in the autoexec file, just let -novid and -console, in the launch options if you like

then how do i get my game to not launch in 1280x720 every time i launch

try to disable steam cloud sync in tf2 properties, then launch the game, change the resolution, and write host_writeconfig in console, once done, try to restart tf2 and see if it works, if it doesn't we'll find another way

Your game will launch in that shit res while you still have -dxlevel whatever in your launch options because it resets everything
