Anyone watch it? I thought it was a solid game - nice plays from both sides. Shame Tip lost but hey, always next year.
I watched it and it was great, but I'm pretty sure most people on this website think hurling is the sport involving brooms and ice.

looks cool but why is the net so big looks like goaltending would be fuckin impossible
Looks fun but I would be paralyzed with fear that if I tried to block a shot I would just get smacked in the head by the bat/stick/whatever it's called.
Am I the only one that uses hurling as a synonym for puking and thus thought this was competitive puking

That's why you wear helmets with masks, so you dont have to worry about getting hit in the face with the bat/ball

Collisions as in bumping shoulder are fair game in hurling, anything beyond that is off limits obviously. It's considered the fastest field sport and since pretty much no player at a county level wears protection of any kind besides a jersey, playing goalie is scary as fuck. Getting hit with sliotar (that's the name of the ball thats used) at 80+ MPH is gonna leave a mark for weeks.
There's a lot of grabbing of shirts and stuff too. Pretty intense game, but most people are good sports about it when playing, and don't actually try to hurt each other.
