In all likeliness, he/she was probably trying to "mastermind" a gigantic scam and steal the credentials of anyone ignorant enough to log into the website once it was "completed". They then would've probably proceeded to trade away all our precious cosmetics or sell them on paypal. Then again, it could actually be a legitimate project and the real devs fucked up when they selected an overly eager middle schooler to promote their efforts. Go figure?

PheeshWe have team members that are specialized with C++, MySQL, HTML, PHP, SourceMod/Source Dedicated Server modifications
Ah yes, these 'team members'. It's funny because the first thing any team that goes out with a project announcement does is advertise the skilled people working on it to help generate excitement and credibility. Yet we have not a single example of any work they've ever done or their technical backgrounds or online aliases they would be known by. I'm sure they just want to pour years of time for a competitive community that they have absolutely no connection to...yup that makes sense!

If I were you and if this whole thing is legit I would be shitting myself after reading 6 pages of people saying that it seems fishy/seems like a scam. If I were you I'd start working on actually proving that this is a real project, I'd apologize for being condescending and I'd sure as hell actually give people cold hard evidence that this isn't some 14 year old trader main looking to steal people's virtual hats.
Either work hard on ensuring the future of your project or man up and admit that this is a pathetic scam, concede defeat and crawl back to the depths of the cancerous trading community.

The part about coding bots to spoof the players isn't hard (in fact, doing such a thing has resulted in a few server owners getting banned from the server browser), but if they've created a bot that can actually function well in an environment heavily dependent on communication, Valve should be jumping all over them to improve their CS:GO bots.

Can bots even wear someone else's hat's without a server plugin? Even if they can, what's the actual point of doing so?

"TF2GAMES" or Courtney Biggins if you are hired to perfom as a spokesperson / marketeer for this project I have to say you are doing a terrible job.
Not only is it your task to inform everyone what exactly you are offering, but most importantly are your intentions...
On top of that what you first want to do is introduce yourself and your so called tf2games team (mark, caroline & john, lol). This community consists of the smartest people I know online who also love transparency and are reluctant to simply accepting something which seems too good to be true.
What is also really skeptical about you is the claimed fact that you spend year(s) coding and working on this project. People I know personally who love to code and write mods etc (Wiethoofd, Casual, my brother: thaCURSEDpie) proudly present their end products and can also proudly put their name on this. See: tf2pickup.net, whitelist.tf, openplugin, (and some gta4 mods by my brother but not relevant here). Same goes for TFTrue by Anakin, MGEMOD by Lange and not forgetting all the custom HUDS and FPS configs provided by members of the community. They all shared their creations with this community and take credit for it. Also afaik all these mods/plugins etc are opensource and everybody can read through all lines of codes freely.
Now you come in out of nowhere and offer a brand new pickup/lobby system with worldwide server integration including a paid-for anti cheat plugin.
It all seems too good to be true but honestly I would love to be surprised, even though I doubt it.
P.s.
TF2Games is a service that is dedicated to competitive players, and only for competitive players.
Replays are enabled in every server
The lobby leader will choose does the server run random crits
I don't think I have ever played on a comp server with replay's enabled, nor do I think any competitive player is interested in using the replay system over demo's...
And random crits? Is this 2007?
