Hello there. I main scout in 6's. Quite a long time ago i've found inconsistency in my dm. One day i can do good ~7-9k damage per any map, one day i barely can do 4-5k.
I know that damage output as scout doesn't really matter that much (as DPM), but still.
I'm trying my best to improve: playing dm servers, mge quite a lot until i'm bored and all of that. Also, i practice 5 times per week with my team.
I've played 3 seasons already, and that has always were things that bugs me a lot. Doesn't matter if that's a scrim or official match.
I'm asking for any tip, as long as it's useful. Thanks in advice.

play pugs, and different dpm per game means nothing
also i think tf2centers are better than mge and dm at this point because no one good plays in them anymore, you might as well play in a realistic environment

Sorry, i forgot to mention that i'm practicing my dm with my team, playing pugs, playing tf2c and all of that. Updated original post.

Part of the issue is day-to-day variance. Sometimes you feel a little off, be it from sickness, tiredness, not in the mood to play, or something else entirely. Other times you are just in the zone and play far above average. Be aware of these things that cause variance, but don't use them as an excuse; learn to power through them.
Part of the issue is the skill level of your opponents. This should be obvious. Sometimes you do poorly because you face a team above your skill level and vice-versa. This can't be helped too much. You can get consistent scrim partners, however.
Part of the issue might be snowballing self-criticism. Don't be too hard on your own failures during the same game; it's probably gonna make you do worse. Worry about how to improve at halftime and after the game.

well you have like 100 hours in the past 2 weeks your probably burnt out, if you want to play that much its fine i would just put some of those hours into other classes its a lot more helpful than you would think even in the dm department.
edit: except spy you have 700 hours on it stop playing it

If you are constantly telling yourself "I'm doing so bad right now compared to the other day" then you are going to continue doing badly. If there is a day where you are extremely frustrated from bad aim just either stop playing or if you are in a game and have to keep going just tell yourself its all in your head.

You can still use it smartly in 6s, just please don't overuse it. Make your 700 hours of spy count, man. That offclass is something you are bringing to the table.
I agree, especially if the spy has good ambassador aim and isn't just some kid that stairstabs people that just installed steam yesterday.

Everyone is inconsistent. If you play more you'll still have good and bad days but your bad days will get better.
^truth also, every time you die analyze your death, warm up. Warhuryeah had a pretty good video on aim.
Go over your demos either with your team, someone else you know, or just watch them yourself. Maybe you're just being really passive in certain scenarios etc.
