this guys rolling in money for playing a damn video game
streaming has changed the face of gaming, you don't even need to be a high level comp player and you can just make a stupid amount of money. look at weed the kid is awful but he has over 4k subs because he does giveaways 24/7, people sub for a chance to win expensive skins...baited with ease

If you made 6 figures by playing video games, you'd bet you'd suck the dicks of the people donating thousands of dollars to you. Even the hardcore no life Kripp sold out, though not to donations yet. Money is money. Add in youtube and edit some of your stream highlights and you probably get even more.
Irishhhhhow many subs did he end with on the train?

Doing giveaways are pretty much the only way that some people get viewers, there's a few players on twitch that get a lot of views from just being entertaining, however a growing trend is to now just play a game in between each giveaway that you do. These people are taking viewers away from people that are using twitch the way it's kinda meant to be, watching people play video games.
phantoml0rd actually kept streaming to a total of 16 hours. he set the new record for sub train to 2101

i, and most people would rather watch an amusing personality over some awkward professional player. but when they combine... that's why ruwin's stream was exactly what TF2 needed before all the drama.

It's pretty interesting how they've got a read on their target audience though. I personally view it as completely retarded, I don't enjoy watching these people as they give away things or open crates or whatever, but everything they do is very well done. The whole hype building, the entire sub-train idea, the giveaways, it's all interesting to see what people will get excited over.
