OP I don't think you understand,

"crosshair 1/0" is a standalone console command that lets you enable/disable the in-game crosshair, it's not a cl_crosshair_file that is just invisible.

In other words, don't do "cl_crosshair_file crosshair0" because "crosshair0" is not an actual crosshair. That's why you get the default black and purple texture replacement if you do it.
