I don't get why the site is blaming the community for why it went down. https://esrc.tv/
Because it was the community that told them to stop I think? Not sure correct me if I'm wrong.
hey data, shade wants to add you. you might want to look into that !

It was just one person in one thread in one of the games they planned on. A little silly.

hpqoeuseems like a lot of work to do for absolutely freeAbsolutely right. But if you see it this way, by helping out, you're helping eSports.
And in the end, if all goes well, the income will be distributed.
DataFair enough, I'm done.
I'll let TF.TV blindness take care of itself.

That's a little bit disingenuous don't you think?
If your entire project hinged on a single, uncompensated developer (not even yourself) and all it took was a single forum post to upset you and scrap the whole thing, it wasn't going anywhere to begin with.
Don't deflect.

I wouldn't say it was just the single forum post. Multiple people offered to help develop the league who later either decided the project wasn't worthwhile or quit for some other reason including myself. I'll even say that my discussion with data about the project was probably the reason he cancelled esource.

if its dead before it was alive does that make it a miscarriage?
or is this more of an abortion?

Seems like a 12 year old move to say the site isnt going up due to lack of support from the community. Its like saying something in a fight then running away trying to kid yourself into thinking youve won. You had big hopes for this site and you let it all rest on one person without passion or reason to carry out the project.

Cancel such a project just because of one post?
OK.
OK.
If you want to make websites like this learn how to code.
Ideas people who can't implement anything themselves rarely get very far without money. Considering most of the work going into this site would have likely been coding, it was destined to fail unless the lead Dev had the same passion for the site as data.

"Do the coding for my idea and if it works out there might be income to share" is something every software dev knows to avoid like the plague...
Anyone capable of building a site like that can pretty easily find someone willing to give them a salary for the same level of work.

This a thousand times, I have had moments where I been "asked" to voluntarily(paid if there is any profit) work for certain projects that seem pretty unrealistic or rather time consuming and not rewarding. I hope this data person man ups and take his time to learn stuff, since it seems he is really young, so time is with him.
