Are they just non-existent there hasn't been a mix in nearly 3 weeks idk about pugna. What do people use for pugs these days? Just inhouse/scrims?
i think so, party pugs do alot of announcements for their pugs although ive never played one before.

But what about the 2k+ players in UGC? Seriously there are so many people involved in 6s I don't understand how there aren't pugs all the time like there are centers

tf2center has become quite popular too with their mumble integration
Many UGC 6s players are either primarily focused on HL, too casual to want to Pug, or are satisfied with centers.
In-house pugs are the best option right now if you're not paying for ESEA.

Centers are easier than IRC pugs but tend to be filled with significantly lower leveled players. ESEA players want value out of the premium they have to pay for to play in the league + maybe if people start actually using the pug system for more than a couple of days every year or so ESEA will finally start updating it to be less bad. Everyone else plays inhouses with friends or dedicated pug groups.
If you don't like centers and aren't in any of the other two categories then you're SoL I guess. Make friends with people that run pug groups.

Damn I was hoping there was just a new pug system/irc that everyone was using. Thats mad depressing inhouse are so circlejerk and unmoderated..

really sad that irc pugs are dying, shoutout to all the irc idlers still on pug.na and mix
i feel like those pugs really helped a lot of people get their game up(especially pug.na) and esea pugs aren't really the same just yet

ESEA pugs are so far the worst pugs I've played in the last year. Which sucks because they are pretty much the only pugs to play right now.
I don't want to pay for ESEA just to pug lol.. but I might just have to do that. I just want to play against good players for the first time before the game dies or new blood takes over
It doesn't seem like it would be too hard to provide tf2pickup for na... I'm sure tragic would donate some servers and there are tons of people willing to help code. Dont really know why its taking so long. Seems to me like its just laziness and a lack of motivation from the developers. I could be wrong though, please prove me wrong and release it soon!!!

isn't that what one of the devs said on these forums that he has to motivate the devs somehow or something along the lines of that.
edit: apparently they need to hire new devs for the NA scene as original devs are too busy or something like that.

Atidere if that's true that blows. I've seen like 5 people offer to help code and get na functionality going. We need it pretty badly.

The creators of tf2pickup have offered to let other developers get the project working in NA, so if you claim people are offering to do it, then they simply aren't following through or are full of shit. \
Also mason in completely right. There is already working pug systems in the form of IRC, if people choose not to use them then that is too bad. The people capable of making a new pug system don't owe it to anyone,

Please don't spread misinformation . There was no one offering to help by adding our team directly. And the devs have other priorities as well, calling them lazy is a bit selfish seeing everything that was achieved for the project already.
Also servers are not an issue because afaik, our main server sponsor, simrai has already offered NA servers if needed

#20 I agree they don't owe it to anyone but I still think its bullshit that its still only available for Europe. I'd personally throw in a few hundred dollars to give the developers some incentive to get going. No one wants to have to use irc to pug anymore and its showing.
#21 how was I spreading misinformation? I was just hypothesizing as to why they promised pickup in north america and it still not happening yet. If you need developers ask for developers, I do remember people offering to help even if they did not reach out directly.
if tf2center introduced a captain mode that would be perfect

We promised a NA version if we got help, we got no help so far, thus, no NA version. The only dev atm is Kuferl and he had some personal problems and lost motivation/time to support the site as much as he used to. So he's pretty much inactive unless there's an emergency with the site. We have posted several times over here and etf2l, and through our steam groups, asking for help and coders, no one has contacted us directly.
People posting on forums != actually adding us to help.

sometimes you have to reach out to people that don't frequent forums, with mix on the decline i'm sure cinq could help if he has the time but he is someone you'd definitely have to try to get a hold of yourself

if you could fatkid people in esea pugs and medics werent automatically captains theyd probably be good imo
I'm sorry to piggyback here, but could someone help me: I'm unable to "Find Match" for TF2 pugs (through the ESEA client), and it says "The selected game is currently unsupported."
Am I missing something?
Also, a side question:
are GUI's for an IRC backend possible? As in, I click the class I want to add as and specify other parameters, and then an IRC backend sorts and starts the match? Because that could be the most promising thing, as there is a system for IRC pugs already made, and a frontend that is appealing to the masses shouldn't be too hard to make if it's possible to interface well.

I will take a break before investing myself into making a better PUG system, I am still too busy with my other projects.

How does your site work? Is it still using an IRC bot with the site acting as a GUI? What language is it coded in? Depending on what's actually being done to get these pugs going in the background will have an effect on who's willing to help.
