I liked it! maybe a little less than maad but it's still up there
Liked it, don't know how much yet. Some tracks didn't really stand out on my first listen, but I really liked blacker the berry, king kunta, mortal man, wesley's theory, how much a dollar cost, and complexion.
Apparently flylo gave him a folder of beats that were being kept on the dl for the next cap murphy album and he recorded to ALL of them but its likely the only one that's gonna see daylight is wesley's theory (although idk if he just recorded the same vocals over every beat or if there's just a bunch of original songs sitting on some hard drive somewhere).

i read about that but delaying a murphy album is a sin

i find it very hard to compare TPAB to GKMC. they are incredibly different
after like 3 listens im honestly blown away, i knew it was gonna be good at least, but i think its really fantastic

i liked king kunta tbtb and wesley's theory right off the bat. complexion grew on me quick and i havent given time on the other songs but the album is good but very uncomparable to GKMC imo. still a good album
obe_thmpsnidk why but it got released early and it's called to pimp a butterfly. who has listened to it? I heard it was awful on twitter so im hesitant to listen to it.
why the fuck would you let other people decide if an album is worth listening to, especially some ppl on twitter? listen to it and form your own opinion you goofball
chill out kid lmao.. I was just looking for what people thought of it damn.

thought it's start was a little weak but overall solid album
It's honestly pretty good. Funky as hell, solid lyrics and decent samples.

PankeymanIt is very nice. I really like the upbeat pace of most of the songs.
I got a completely opposite feel from the album. it doesnt seem upbeat to me at all

I love the funk/jazz styling of the album. That said, this album is much heavier in content and more "conscious" which makes it much less accessible than GKMC which was basically the perfect hip hop crossover album. Only listened to it 3 times so far but I'm a fan and the lyricism and production are top notch. Also thundercat on almost every song is pretty awesome.
is anyone else getting a little bit of an outkast vibe? the energy on this record is through the roof
you cant possibly formulate a valid opinion on an entire album in 2 days

That's why you're not a music reviewer if you have a finalized opinion in only a handful of listenings
Pretty underwhelming, songs like "u" just arent fun to listen to.
As far as bangerz go To pimp a butterfly doesn't deliver on that front the only few that are fun to listen or come close to this category would be wesley's theory, king kunta, alright, for sale, and the blacker the berry. However, lyrically this album is a monster with its content. There's just so much depth to it. GKMC was a fine mix of a storytelling (message) and sound, while this album is more of a homage to Kendrick's poetic ability.
-I'm a huge fan since sec.80 and this album is not a disappointment in the slightest, what attracted me to Kendrick in the first place was his ability to make me think about the music

I really doubt that 6 full listenings is a low number of listenings for music reviewers
