that clean tf2 mod looks pretty wild man
Is there something I can do about visibility of rockets with clean tf2 installed? Solid dark rockets ruin reflects and general dodging. I would like to enable those brighter rocket elements.
Don't use the particle remover vpk to get normal rocket trails.
it should be either the particle remover vpk or the unlit particles file, i forget which one, just remove it from ur custom folder

Thanks, guys. It was _particle_removal.vpk. Definitely do not want to remove that sort of thing.

Ninjaxi edited the particle removal vpk to make rockets look brighter, here it is in case anyone wants to try it http://puu.sh/fb941/317e069d3b.vpk
Rockets are very visible, thanks! What particles does it remove?

Sorry it took so long from when you submitted it. Been a little distracted lately heh.

Dunno if someone already asked this, but is there a way to get just the transparent viewmodel? Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought someone had introduced the idea way back when, and it was concluded that it was illegal? Something about conflicting with sv_pure options.

About the illegal thing, that was the scope removal. it's illegal in ETF2L, Not sure about other leagues.

It literally says in cleanTF2 that the only thing that is illegal in tf2 is the prop removal and sniper scope, all else is fine.
I accidentally changed it so vpks open in notepad. How do I revert that?
What's the default program to install vpks? I changed mine to notepad.
nobelharvardsYou do not have to "install" vpks in a sense, in any way. What you have to do is dump them into the custom folder in your tf folder. The game will check that folder when it starts up, and do its thing with any mods you have installed.
Although it does not matter, if you wish, you can reset the file associations in Windows with certain file types.
I am using Windows 7. You will have to find your own way in XP, 8, 8.1 and 10.
In the start menu, a few bars below the control panel, there is "Default Programs". You can find the same thing by opening control panel and using the search bar on the top right to search "default" and it should find an option saying "Default Programs" or something similar.
Now you need to select "Set your default programs".
On the next screen, you need to find the application in question. In your case, it is notepad. Click on that under "programs" on the left.
On the bottom, will be 2 options; "Set this program as default" and "Choose defaults for this program". You need to select the one that says "Choose defaults for this program".
Find the .vpk extension. Untick it. The save button is in the bottom right corner. Unless you have other file extensions that you have "accidentally" associated with notepad, there should be no need to untick other file extensions.
Tell me how it goes. :)
I use Windows 8.1. I found what you were referring to but .vpk is not shown.

rip having fullbright maps, my game is so dark now :(
Yeah, update seems to have broken most of the functionality of clean tf2, rip unlit playermodels.
I forgot TF2 has so many particles, what even is this?

preloading _decal_removal.vpk and then moving to sv_pure 1/2 turns all decals into squares like these
i actually like those squares, as they make it very easy to see exactly where your shots/pellets are landing, especially since surfaceproperties.txt removes the impact effects. any idea how i might get this to work on sv_pure 0?

Does anyone know exactly what still does work from Clean TF2?
STOGEDoes anyone know exactly what still does work from Clean TF2?
Everything.
flyingbuddyIs everything in here allowed on ozfortress?
You'd have to ask Kenneth for confirmation, I suggested that he clarify his position on prop removal and I don't think he did but apart from that none of it's dodgy and should be fine.

About 90% of the pack was vmt based, where preloading was removed and now they only work on sv_pure 0.
I've got an idea in mind for how to fix the unlits, but implementing it is either out of my ability or just plainly impossible. Particle removals could also probably be moved into particles, but whether they work in sv_pure 2 or not depends on the particle file they're in and a fair bit still wouldn't be possible without preloading.
The model removals, _surface_properties, door_fix, and FLAT all still work just fine in sv_pure 2 (with preloading for the model removals).
