So, I guess the team that "won" the invite poll had less votes, but won because of a rule that noone knew about, that only votes that people with their main game as CS:GO and prem would count. The rule wasn't mentioned anywhere, and the tally of votes that counted is not displayed anywhere, so there is no way of knowing what the margin was or anything.
Is the way ESEA TF2 run by the same admins? Because there seems to be a lot of weird, liberal interpretations of what are rules and what aren't going on in invite CS, that scare me about the fate of invite TF2. This isn't a shot at ESEA at least on the TF2 side, since this last season of LAN was run really well and I haven't heard anything but good things, but I'm just concerned that there isn't enough structure in place in ESEA to keep things consistent. Like, for instance, is it entirely under the discretion of the admins that Xensity, Laserbeams and Don't Trip are in invite?

Invite teams are there because the admins invited them there because they believe that they are one of the top 8 teams. It's a well known fact that all ESEA polls only actually count votes from players who have that game set as their default.

yes
also your tf2 invite votes only count if you have tf2 set as your main game iirc. I'm pretty sure that happened after businessmen got voted for invite multiple times because cs people knew tmarshall and company.
