If you want an estimate of where we are, I guess I would say mid open, but I've never played with this roster so we will play whoever. Well today I learned that only high open/IM teams use IRC so I would like adds from anyone around mid open who wants to schedule scrims.

i never understood just not scheduling scrims, the only thing that irc usually has really bad skill differences. the only advantage irc has is that you can get it quick.

I don't know if you've ever led a team or not but it's incredibly frustrating to either have people cancel on you, not be ready in time, or have to leave early from a scrim you've set up. IRC eliminates every one of these problems and the only reason it's not working well for lower level teams right now is because not enough of them are using it.

I completely agree but all the teams we are even with don't use IRC.

IRC or a forum would be great. I can't stand scheduling scrims in advance. There are teams that schedule upwards of 5 days in advance and if you get canceled on it's very possible that you just won't be able to scrim at all.

i have led a team and yeah im one of those people that schedule a week in advance lol, because if they do cancel, you can usually find another even one within that time frame, odds are they arent going to cancel on the spot. but, maybe having like the scrim irc as a sidebar for tf.tv or even a scrim forum would be pretty cool :^)

i just schedule 24-48h in advance max, and if they jump on me after confirming then i avoid scheduling with them again

Stop scheduling in advance, PLEASE. If you all used IRC it'd be totally viable and people wouldn't have to do so much damn work to get a scrim. On top of that you'd have the benefit of playing against a wider variety of teams.

To use irc: type in atf2.org in your browser
Log in with whatever username you want (I recommend using your own)
At the top of the screen there's a #tf2scrim tab. Click it if it's not open
In the text box type : y/ours open cp_whatever
You now have used IRC

alright I got a match tonight at 10 est and irc is dead on Fridays so if anyone could get their team or wants to put together like a mid-high open pugscrim team to play us at 9 that would be sick.
