Having a problem since the last update that featured the new way to skip ticks. Sorting clips for the Top10 at the moment, but every demo (both POV and STV, it seems) where I need to skip a lot of ticks seems to crash. TF2 suddenly closes, and I get the following message:
Engine error "CUtllinkedlist overflow (exhausted index range)"
Anyone know if this can be fixed?

I've asked this question on another post and looks like no one has a solution for it.

kaneSkipping 20000 ticks and then 20000 ticks and again and again is what worked for me. When it didn't I had to just speed up demo to 600% speed and get to tick.
Any ideas of Valve knows about this and if they are working on fix?
I'll try that, but it's kind of annoying when you have demos where you need to get to 150.000 ticks... I can email them and see what's up, but if anyone has more information on what might be causing this I'd like to include that in the email.

Maybe some of these will help you? http://www.reddit.com/r/truetf2/comments/2csnlx/til_you_can_ff_through_demos_very_quickly_if_you/
haven't tried using demos since the update though.

host_framerate 1 / demo_timescale makes it crash even quicker. :(

I linked this in the bugs thread: http://teamfortress.tv/thread/22644/tf2-feature-requests-and-bug-fixes/?page=2
There was also some discussion on this in the update thread: http://teamfortress.tv/thread/24806/tf2-update-for-4-29-15/?page=1#28
xeroThere`s no solution for that currently, Kaneco reported it to Eric and he said they will look into that problem. Wait till thursday update.
If Thursday's doesn't fiX it, Eric would probably appreciate any demos that don't work atm in order to track down the issue.

Same thing, havent tried skipping ticks but i tried to play demos at 600% and 200% speed, crashes both of the times but with 200% the crash will happen later.

@_vitto
Try using the 'flush' command at various points during playback.

I already posted in the update thread
Im in a email convo with eric and he seems to be sorting the problem or at least looking into it, a fix should come soon.
I already sent in a bunch of demos with the crash dumps attached aswell so he has something to work with

Hey guys i might have found a temporary fix for this issue.
For some reason when i set the playback speed to 600% and then skip ticks it wont crash on me.
I hope that helped atleast some people.
Edit: Also seems to speed up skipping in general. :p

This works for me as well. Always something stupid you gotta do that's so simple to make this buggy thing work properly. HOWEVER, when you try to go back to the tic, after having watched it, it still crashes.

Seems to be placebo. Might fix some issues but it crashed again rip
Fix would be great

i don't know if its gonna work for everyone but for me when i change the speed to 0% and i press "goto" to the tick that i want it wont crash, try that and let me know if its working for you

Tried this with a few demos and was able to to skip 100k ticks without crashing. Not sure about anyone else.

I haven't heard back from eric since he last emailed me so i guess a fix is still being worked on or it's kinda in the sidelines atm.

This works! Just be aware that if you jump back it'll restart the demo and start fastforwarding with the slider at 100% again, causing the demo to crash, so jump to tick 100, readjust the slider to 0% and then jump to whatever tick you need.
It's still a pain to sit through the entire demo every time, and I'm pretty sure tabbing while skipping causes tf2 to crash as well. Still, it's better than nothing
