Hi there!
As you know, TF2Center has been stable for quite a while. While the world around us is constantly changing, it’s time to move forward.
With almost 100.000 registered users, we would like to know what you think of our services, and help us decide what to do next. This survey is a first step towards this.
Anyone who enters their TF2Center Profile URL in the survey will be automatically added for the prize drawing of 1 year of Donator Status on TF2Center, though of course you can also choose to leave the option blank if you wish to be completely anonymous.
The survey can be found here: https://tf2center.typeform.com/to/WRwSWe
Thanks for helping us improve the website!

So youre considering charging veteran players to keep out the newbies? Sounds like a decent idea, but Im not sure people would go along with it, regardless of how cheap it is.

1 euro per month is nothing for a customer and a lot for the developers and upkeep if it's like a 100 people paying or more.
But I wouldn't pay if those lobbies didn't have any extra value except for that newbies are filtered out, if you implement auto balancing (which I think was the original idea behind advanced lobbies) that's a different story, though I don't think if it'd still be fair if it was the main feature if most of the work was outsourced.
The other thing is that some people are hesitant to pay at all for some reason regardless of the service they are getting.

Small derp with the lobbies played question, no option for those between 25 and 50 lobbies.

why would anyone pay for "better" lobbies when they can just pug

honestly if you can't pay 1 euro a month you should probably not be playing M rated games
i would pay even if i never played a lobby ever again

i filled out the survey and I support tf2center but i have one question.

TF2 matchmaking will likely be some shitshow Valve gamemode with weird unlock and class restrictions. TF2center will still exist to play the 6s and HL that we all love.
Even if Valve implements MM with proper class and weapon limits, TF2center can still coexist quite well as a gamemode where people of any skill level can play quickly and allows for custom maps that Valve probably won't support

We're looking at a lot of different stuff that comes along. center isn't just lobbies and the staff is just more than the lobby police banning people for offclassing 8)
Hope this gives us good data and ideas on what to pour our time into next.

The problem with paywalled "advanced lobbies" is that if they're empty on release day then they'll probably remain empty forever.
One way to avoid this pitfall is by giving free advanced lobby access to active players in Invite/IM/ETF2L Prem/HL Plat. This gives everyone else an incentive to donate so they can play lobbies with these top players.
Doing that also gives you a much better advertising angle since a lot of people who follow popular streamers would gladly pay a dollar to play with them, as opposed to paying money for an empty service.

ESEA pugs are bigger than ever, growing every day. So I don't think mm will hurt tf2 center in the long run.

I don't know about anyone else but this is a sexy survey design-wise, and I love the ability to use my keyboard. Keep up the good work TF2C!

For sure no top player will ever pay money to play 'Advanced Lobbies' over PUGs

if you think matchmaking isn't going to be the most cancerous shit to play, you're wrong. if you think lobbies in their current state are "jokes" because of how few people take them seriously, wait until you play with people who've never switched off spy and don't know what serious means

Rankings are a thing.

I never said "matchmaking will be not cancerous". Of fucking course it's gonna be cancerous, I was just saying won't more people be playing tf2 MM instead of tf2center. I just felt like tf2center might just die off if MM becomes a really big thing but maybe im wrong idk.

I would pay for advanced lobbies in a hearbeat
A reliable stream of income for the site would open the door for tons of possible improvements and added features.
You guys 100% deserve to be getting something in return for all the work you've put into this site. Spoiled people will complain but in the long run this will be beneficial for everyone. Ignore them and keep it up, its not a bad idea

Paying for advanced lobbies could be cool because people would actually try and not troll/off class because they are paying for them.
