Windows 7 can't update?

I've been trying to update windows 7 for the past few weeks. However every time it installs and tries to reboot, windows fail to configure the update and reverts the changes. I tired using the update diagnosis and it said that it fixed the issue but it still can't update. Anyone had this issue before?

I had a similar issue, and I just had to wait for the next update to fix it as there was some issue with my motherboard

I had the exact same problem! Just today I got fed up and downloaded the Windows Update Troubleshooter from Microsoft's website. I was skeptical but it seems to have worked like a charm.
