Hey I currently have an Asus VG248QE 24-Inch monitor which I'm running to my computer using an HDMI cable. I didn't realize until yesterday that this limits my hz to 60 as opposed to 144 which is what I'm looking to get. Unfortunately my computer only has a VGA port so it won't accept the dual link DVI cable that came with the monitor. I'm wondering if anyone knows any good adapters or other ways that I can get my monitor to 144hz so I can finally be good at tf2.
Thanks!

You need to connect your monitor to a dvi-i or displayport on your gpu.
vga and hdmi do not support anything above 75hz afaik

Yeah I have the cord, I needed a way to connect it to the tower.

there's no way to run 144hz unless you get a dedicated gpu then

How much do you think a solid upgrade with the port would cost?
can i just message you?

750 ti and call it a day
but honestly any dedicated GPU should come with a dual dvi-d port

R7 240 is pretty cheap and decent for the price. Anything non-integrated will do it though.

If you're desperate for 120Hz over HDMI, I believe you should be able to get it if you drop your resolution down to 1024*768 or below. For TF2 with an Intel iGPU you'd need to use a resolution like that to make greater than 60Hz worth having anyway.

I'm pretty sure there are hdmi cables that con do 1080p 144hz, or at least I'm pretty sure I have seen them advertised

the cable can but the hdmi spec itself couldn't until hdmi 2.0 which is rare
