these are great. as far as durability goes the pair i got is built like a tank.

I've heard the HyperX Cloud is pretty good in that price range, but I don't have personal experience with it

If you want to spend a _little_ bit more, the Beyerdynamic MMX2 is a really good headset for the cost.

I am using the Logitech G230 right now and I have dropped it like over 100 times and nothing is wrong with it, Ive had it a little over 1 and a half year already.

The G430 which I believe is better and its mainly because its surround sound and the G230 is stereo. Unlike the G230 you can use the Logitech gaming software to control trebel, bass, etc. The G430 is the same price as the G230 right now which I believe is a steal but its up to you if you were going to buy it.

Superlux HD668B and Sennheiser HD 429 are pretty good bang for your buck, but you'll have to get yourself a mic. I know b4nny used to use Zalman Zm-Mic1 for a while. Nice and cheap too.

I wouldn't say the Logitech G430 is the most "durable", but it's certainly good for its money. Very good sound quality, comfortable, and affordable (~$80, I bought it on sale for $50)

Seconding this, don't pay extra for gaymer gear.

I have a pair of cloud 1 headsets. they have better positional sound and a wider soundstage than my previous pair of ($60) sennheisers

i've used these, the sound quality is excellent for the price, almost a poor mans ath m50. My only issue is the material feels awful on your ears, and if you have a larger head the comfort is rather low.

I use this. I was skeptical buying it at first because of all of the reviews stating that the band would snap on larger heads, etc. Lemme tell ya, I have the biggest head in the whole fucking world and this headset fits like a dream and has never come close to breaking. It has a decent surround sound and excellent quality and comfort. You can also adjust the volume along the side (although that's my one complaint- it's a bit in the way).

There're some issues with it, such as the volume thingy jiggles and sometimes makes noise when I shake my head, and it also (for me, nobody else has this problem) distorts my voice when I use Steam calling or in-game voice. It's fine everywhere else.

However, if you don't do these things, $50 for a fairly unbreakable, very comfy headset is a good deal in my opinion.

you're not wrong, but i've owned a couple of lower-end in-earphones from sennheiser and i was (positively) surprised with how the sound sounded, with some.

it's been mentioned already, but i would refrain from getting a headset. (but if you really must, then just get something cheap.)
otherwise, get separate pieces. because in 99% of the cases, you're just throwing away money when you get a headset. not just because they're overpriced, but mainly because there is so much better available when you get separate pieces.

also, just try not to drop your headphones ;p very few are 'made to be dropped'. it's really just a bunch of plastic, some glue, maybe some screws, etc. it's not so much the outside, but rather all the tinier things on the inside that will move/dislocate/detach when you drop your phones.
if you get anything above $60, then i would certainly try to treat them with some luv
