Is it possible to have a mumble server/channel for those who want to watch the game on their own, that can be used to hear the casters while a match is being casted?

Tbh I think it would be a cool concept to have a TFTV mumble to talk in while watching the game with others (like watching sports at a bar or football cafeteria)

DDoSes are the primary concern for hosting a massive public Mumble if I remember correctly, not including the massive server resources required.
However, there is still interest in the idea and we'll continue to investigate it.

I was thinking of a subchannel that mute everyone inside connected to the channel used by the 2 casters to analyze the match

I really enjoyed the "behind the scenes" stream where the broadcasters et al were webcamming live. Had the tftv game stream on one monitor and the broadcasters on the other. Honestly just a really fun viewing experience, though I'm not entirely certain it was official, I would love to see that setup or something like it again.

it would probably be easier for cast people to just run 2 copies of mumble connected to a public/private server than to do something like that

Intended for making a seamless bridge between two channels in different mumble servers, but with a quick change you can make it one way. (you could also pretty easily do the same thing with Eve. http://frymaster.127001.org/mumble/)
I really enjoyed being able to listen to VanillaTV casts in mumble and watch the STV myself, especially when my horribly unreliable internet made watching twitch streams nearly impossible. (though I didn't know of livestreamer then, which would have helped) I don't remember ever seeing more than maybe a dozen tops people listening in mumble instead of watching the stream, so I don't think the 'it hurts stream numbers' argument hold much weight.

Mumble capacity is also an issue at that point and when we have the teams in the mumble a mumble ddos is much worse because it does just ruin the cast it affects the outcome of the game.
I guarantee you I can give you a more entertaining camera perspective than you can do yourself. The only thing you could do that I can't is stick the camera on the one player you want a pov of for the whole game. That and having shit Internet are the only justifications imo and those aren't enough to warrant opening the mumble.
On a purely personal level, when we put so much effort into providing one of the best produced streams in esports it's disappointing when people would rather just watch the stv.
