Someone who has experience with this tell me wtf is the problem. I drop frames like there's no tomorrow. I have a decent rig and good upload. I followed this tutorial and still get tons of drops.

As for internet and comp specs here they are:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/2361920795.png
i7-2700k 3.5ghz
16gb RAM
Sapphire 5870 Eyefinity 6
I can post pics of OBS if need be but I'm trying to figure out what settings would be optimal for this setup.

Stupid question: Are you connecting to the internet through WiFi?

I'll get a red and black box in the bottom right of OBS but occasionally it goes back to green. I've noticed that my stream will be fine for a second and then lag out and that's when all the frames get dropped. It will play for 2 seconds and then drop for 5 and I get huge frame loss during that time.

Try using game capture source with dxlevel 9 for better performance. Or you can do windows capture with dx8. Dxtory doesn't work well with OBS.

its probably the server you are connected. switch to one closer to you
use this program to see where you get best pings: http://www.teamliquid.net/staff/R1CH/JTVPing.zip

Almost sounds like you're not getting your advertised upload rate, have you tried adjusting everything down until it stays consistent yet?

Ping test and Speed test give them same numbers pretty much every time I do the tests. Thanks for the program ranga. That showed me I had 112 ms instead of the 9 ms I could have with another server.

I can't get DXtory to work with OBS without crazy stuttering in my stream. I just run OBS 64 bit and capture my desktop and it works really well. I get almost the same FPS in game with it running as without. If you really want to use DXtory you probably have to use XSplit.

I just don't understand the settings enough to know what to do lol
