Is My Motherboard Dead?

I was on my computer earlier when it just rebooted for seemingly no reason. 30 seconds after it booted into Windows, it restarted again but this time there was no display on the monitors. I tried holding down the power button to shut it down, but nothing happened. I flipped the switch on the power supply and cleaned the dust out of thr computer in hopes of fixing it. I also replugged most of the main cables and reset the CMOS battery while I was at it. When I tried turning on the PC again and it still didn't work, I removed both sticks of ram to see if the motherboard would beep, but it didn't. The problem stayed exactly the same. This leads me to believe that my motherboard is dead. All fans/lights are running fine but I'm not sure the computer even posts. Any advice or knowledge would be great, thanks.

I'm assuming you don't have a motherboard with LED codes, because that would be helpful to see its thought process upon turning it on.

It sounds like it could be a motherboard issue, especially if you can't tell if it does anything at all upon turning it on. My roommate had a drink spilled on his computer, and his motherboard got ruined. Like your scenario, there would be no display and we couldn't tell if it got anywhere at all upon turning on. I would entertain the idea of taking out your video card and trying to use onboard video, just to make sure it's not some weird video card issue (honestly unlikely but you might as well try). Other than that, it sounds like it's the motherboard, which sucks. :(

By no display on the monitors what do you mean? Do you reach post at all?

Funny thing, it was raining very lightly earlier today and the window behind my PC was slightly open...

ComangliaBy no display on the monitors what do you mean? Do you reach post at all?

The monitors' respective company logo appears and then the monitors' on/off led goes orange and the screen is black.

Do you hear any beeps?

Do you see any lights on the motherboard lit up?

What model is the motherboard?

This could also be a failed PSU.

It could be your PSU, when my power supply last failed I had similar issues, I figured it out because my computer's fans were usually super loud when it started then they would calm down but once my power supply failed they would just stay loud.

It's the rain, almost definitely the rain. I had the exact same problem a while ago, which I'm imagining was on account of the humidity. Long story short, I frequently had the no display thing, and I thought my motherboard was dying or GPU was dying. At one point literally nothing would come on, no fans, LEDS, nothing. I was about to get motherboard replaced under warranty after checking that the PSU was ok, but tried one last time to boot my system before replacing the motherboard and it started up. Humidity at the time was pretty ridiculous, so I'm almost certain it was that. Since then I always keep my computer running for most of the day(sometimes consecutive days) during the monsoon.

I'd recommend breaking out ye' olde hair-dryer and seeing if that solves your problem. Use it on the lowest heat possible, and if that's too much just turn off the heat.

I have a fan on it and I'll try to turn it on probably tomorrow. Thanks for the advice. To the others: I'll update this thread later with more information.

So it looks like it was a power supply problem. Swapped my sister's GPU into my system and had the same problem. Then switched my sister's PSU into my system and everything is up and running fine.
