https://www.reddit.com/r/tf2/comments/3j1m9t/anyone_who_doesnt_play_competitively_that_watched/
I made a thread on the vanilla TF2 subreddit, asking if there was anyone who watched it that doesn't play comp but is now interested in joining. While the main goal is to find as many of those people as possible and helping them do what it takes to become comfortable enough with it, my focus concerning this thread on TFTV is to help me get visibility by upvoting this post on Reddit. I feel super cheesy asking for this kind of thing, but there's no better time to do this than after a LAN tournament that was actually front page on Twitch and on the TF2 blog itself.
Thank you!
edit: I typo'd the thread title once again; forgive me.

I'm pretty sure directly up voting from the link won't do anything as a measure to prevent huge brigades. Try to find the post yourself if you want to show support!

I'm not trying to prevent brigades or whatever. I'm not trying to start them either. I think I might technically be breaking Reddit rules by asking people for upvotes, but whatever. Upvotes mean visibility, which is what I'm asking for with this thread, nothing more.

tbh putting it on r/tf2 may not be the best thing, i mean sure it was all over the front page of that subreddit for a day or so, but at the end of the day the pubbers would rather comment and actually view and upvote their "xD look at this pootis pyro play" or something.

Still better than not having anything up there at all. Most of us started at that casual level, what's to stop some newbie from clicking the link and getting interested?

Maybe we should first solve the problem of treating new players like they are players and not like shit, since it seems that every time a TF2 star like Muselk or Uncle Dane make a video about competitive, we get a lot of new players that everyone likes to treat like trash, and then complain about non-stop in TF2Center and other communities.

Exactly. After Muselk posted that video about comp, I tried joining a lobby with players with the least lobbies played and urged them to join mumble so I could coach them a little. Unfortunately, no one did :(. Kinda hard to convince players to cooperate when they're shy or Europeans with uncertain English.
