mdvi wouldnt mind a dx9 no rocket trail pack

I honestly don't think that dx8 needs this pack, because the rocket trails are minimalistic enough.

But yeah, this would be INCREDIBLY useful on dx9.

Your 4PLUG directory settings are wrong. Click on the home button in the bottom right side of the 4PLUG window. Then set it to match your "custom: folder (it's usually: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Team Fortress 2\tf\custom\)

Game crashes very strange

I need help! Please :(

My TF2 sometimes crash in two weird different styles:

1. Whenever I switch the class quick after respawning and exiting the spawn and jump my game crashes.

2. When there are a lot of players near me (32 servers).

Those are the configurations that I use:

➨ Launch Options: -full -console -novid -nojoy -h 720 -w 1280

➨ My laptop specs: http://pastebin.com/RFSZs3eL

➨ Autoexec: http://pastebin.com/HhhrV2pr

➨ Config.cfg: http://pastebin.com/RTpZwjSB

➨ My custom folder: Google Drive link

Things I tried so far:

– verify the integrity of the game cache.

I’m not sure but after I do the verifying the game runs ok, if I modify something in a class cfg then the game stars to crash again. Could this be the reason?

Sorry this config works best with quad core processors and Nvidia graphics cards. I would suggest using Comanglia's autoexec instead of R4ndom's. His, while slower, is more compatible with other setups.

Oh man I just noticed this thread, I should go to tf.tv more often.
Really great work Danpixed, some features look really nice, also thank you for including my guide! I'll make sure to include it in guide. :)
Few things I want to point out:

- You don't need to bind "sv_allow_point_servercommand always" and reload map, put the command in autoexec and it'll load fine first time.
- Heapsize is useless after the orange box, the -high command shoould let tf2 use more system memory instead.

other than that your compilation looks really promising, also the timer resolution is a nice tool, keep at it !

Hatim - You don't need to bind "sv_allow_point_servercommand always" and reload map, put the command in autoexec and it'll load fine first time.

Nice, I didn't think it would work in autoexec for some reason.

Hatim - Heapsize is useless after the orange box, the -high command shoould let tf2 use more system memory instead.

My newer pack is still a work in progress. Because of this the old pack still has the -heapsize command.

Thanks for the feedback :D

The game runs smoother and faster with R4NDOM CFG.
That's how I felt it.

The crashes were because I might have too many scripts or wait commands in my cfgs.
After verifying game integrity, DEFRAG, RESTARTING computer - everything went back to normal. No more crashes.

Comanglia's config uses a command that upscales a lower resolution, which is completely unnecessary (why not just lower the resolution?) I suggest setting Comanglia's view port scale to:

mat_viewportscale "1"
mat_viewportupscale "1"

Before taking any benchmarks

You realize 3 of 4 of my CFGs have

mat_viewportscale "1"
mat_viewportupscale "1"

the other 1 is meant to look awful, or people who're already playing at 640 x 480 and have a crappy on chip GPU.

It's still a matter of preference, it has nothing to do with performance. I use it to run on 1280x720 game with a hud only compatible with 1920x1080.

Adding in windows_speaker_config "1" might be useful for some people. All it does is make sure that the sound setting is set to headphones instead of a speaker configuration.

I also said it to him, this is pretty cancerous in my opinion.
Also, you should also add a section that specifically tells you that the NVidia inspector tool method that makes textures blury, adds input lag.

If your game is suffering input lag, set Transparency Supersampling to default

	5) Set Anitaliasing - Transparency Supersampling to AA_MODE_REPLAY_ALL

EDIT: for some reason low textures will only work if supersampling is set to AA_MODE_REPLAY_ALL. If anyone knows a way around this I would love to know.

Uh no.

Basically host_thread_mode 2 is exactly the same as mat_queue_mode 2, but for hosting a server rather than your client.
