But it happens with every class and my configs haven't changed much beyond view models on or off. I have also verified files and defragged with gcf, steam, amd gamebooster.

It sounds like you have a hud_reloadscheme hiding somewhere that execs.

Also lots of your cfgs are very very unnecessary. Haha.

Either that or you accidentally created some cfg loading loop.

could someone explain what a clear config is ? i've never heard of that

You use it to reset all your controls. Unnecessary if you don't have anything in your configs that would change your controls in the first place.

I just looked at you config files and can't see anything out of place or that should be causing a loop.

Maybe someone else will find something

Edit: I don't think you can bind rcrtl and lctrl. It is just CTRL. Should Not be causing the above issues though

I don't think it has much to do with my configs and more to do with a small lag spikes. But I'm not sure why it would reload my configs because shouldn't that only happen when you spawn as a class the first time? Also when it happens my tf2 in windowed mode goes in and out of focus so that my cursor appears. But my fps remains in the 120's during this and my ping stable as to were it was when it started according to the netgraph.

Also you can bind the left and right controls independently. I did them in the tf2 options just to make sure when I originally did it. Its just to make specing easier.

In your medic config you have cl_hud_minmode 0. That reloads the hud and causes the screen freezes for a short bit, try removing that.

That doesn't explain why it's looping.

actually i seen soemting interesting, does anything rest on your home key while you're playing? you have home bound to hud_reloadscheme and holding it would probably make it loop. it would explain why it is happening on every class as well

thanks I'll comment the minmode things off. I have them in each class to change my hud crosshair.

I dont have anything holding down my home key and have used different keyboards and this still happens.

Well, i don't know if it works the way i'm thinking, but if by changing the minmode it reloads the config aswell, it will exec anything in it, including the cl_hud_minmode 0 and the exec clear.cfg (again), that's maybe why it loops. But again, i have no idea if it works that way

If it does work for some reason, just bind it or use a hud that toggles it in the menu

I tried it and it doesn't re-exec everything.

Ok so I removed the minmode thing reinstalled steam, tf2 and so far no reloading. I think Mits had it right when it was the minmode thing causing the hang up but I dont understand the looping. Normally a config is only execed when you first spawn as that class no matter how many times you respawn. I think it was a combination of the lag on my end and the hud changing to get my crosshair and scoreboard to change even though the majority of the time no settings would change. I have only played 5 games so far though so it could still be a problem but for now looks like it was solved so thank you.
