i dont know if this belongs here but i have played ugc highlander (lolhl) for a good amount of time now and was wondering if it would be worth it to make a jump to esea rather than playing ugc 6s first. ive done well in pugmes (i played with nursey, goldfish, and rainy in one and hopefully they remember me?) and other pugs (powerpugs is an example, sadly the pug i was in got shitty quick and i resolved to not play powerpugs again :P) but i dont know if it is to proper 6s as lobbies are to ugc or if it is closer than lobbies are. thanks!

ya play open ugc is a waste of time unless you have basically no experience
if you understand basic mechanics you will improve faster in open than in ugc

i dont think playing with me on anything that involves a brain is a really good experience...

smobo is a wonderful admin and i think u should play ugc to have chance to interact with him :)
Play esea if you want dude. It might be rough for a season or two, but you'll get a lot better in that time. I played ugc for 5 seasons, but I feel this current season in open is what has pushed me to get better. However, if you are interested in just chilling and having a good time, ugc isn't a bad road to travel. There are some very nice people over there, and you can make some good friends. It's all about your goals.

I went straight to ESEA this season, no prior experience, etc. I had watched about a hundred hours worth of casts on TFTV and played some TF2Center, but that was about it. 900 hours in game at the start of the season.
No regrets. I sucked more than I expected at first, but I've had a lot of fun and have gotten infinitely better since the start of the season, in DM and gamesense.
