ColemanWhat I don't get is why he is asking for money for a new PC. If you're going to beg, and he is begging. Why not ask for spare parts so you can build your way back in to a working unit. If X, Y and Z all throw in a bit of RAM, a PSU and what not you're basically there. He dosn't need a new PC, he needs a working PC that runs Fortress at 120fps. Unless he wants it to play OverWatch which is what I expect he is doing.
Convenience. Have to make sure all the parts run together properly and shipping would be a bitch or be expensive. If hes asking for money already he probably cant pay the shipping charge. Plus theres the whole breaking on arrival thing.
Its just simpler to buy a new pc is it not?

i think shipping would be a problem for a lot of people
I agree postage can be expensive, but if we're being honest the EU community, if not soley the Russian TF2 communty would have found the parts due to his standing within the community as a top player. There is no need for money in this situation. Just good will and some spare parts.

some people need the extra help. maybe he has a job and needs to pay bills or maybe he cant get a job. you dont know. chill yo
No he's exploiting this community by begging. The guy has 65 hours played past two weeks and 9200 hours played in TF2, plenty of time to earn some money. He also has an unusual scorching flames hat, Australium black box and Max's head which of course he won't be selling.
I really don't understand how his computer 'completely died'. Like others have said, you don't need an brand new computer when the old one can be easily fixed. What he should have done is just make a computer help thread explaining the problem.

I think we get your point. There's no sign ordering you to donate, he's just a kid asking for money so he can keep playing his hobby.
Seriously there was a guy on indiegogo who raised funds for a sandvich and got over 30k dollar. So why the big drama about this case?

well, judging from
WARHURYEAHBasically with sdburns visa he has to have the following requirements:
1. At least $2000 in his account. Or enough to afford the trip.
2. He needs to show that the money is his and earned by himself, either through work or from selling a car etc.
Also sdburn has had to pay for his tuition fees as well so he doesn't even have the correct amount in his account anymore.
it seems fairly reasonable to assume that he is not a high school student
and did everybody forget when he made that shit on youtube ages ago where he literally said if u guys don't give me money i won't make more videos - this shit has been going on for a while

My bad.
So he's a college student which is arguably worse considering he's likely sinking whatever income he has into his education.
I feel that somehow only makes it even more reasonable to ask for help.
I know as a college student myself if i needed to sink 500$ to play games I wouldn't be able to afford it for a while without help. Plus my nation's currency also doesn't have the value of toilet paper.

I never get how biased people are when somebody known expresses his/her opinion next to someone who isn't.
Ether is talking shit and so is Tapley.. honestly quite more than Ether. Even insulting him as a Gypsy while knowing absolutlely NOTHING about shadowburns personal situation. He's not even saying that he wants to play overwatch, fucking autistic.
But well, thats just my 2cents..

Look at his +frags, look at the other people telling him to go get a job.

Shadowburn I know your pain playing on a bad computer. I use a mac book pro 13 inch and I get like 40~50 fps. I wish you best luck and I really enjoy your frag clips and videos!

Personally, if people wanna give someone they like money, I don't see a problem; it's theirs and they're free to do whatever they want with it. I'm not gonna criticize what they do with their own money.

TapleySomeone needs to put a ban on these fundraisers popping up left right and centre. Its not fair to exploit these 14 year old autists for their pocket money just so you can get a new pc to play overwatch. Get a job and stop scrounging you Gyppo.
People who are donating are doing because they like seeing Shadowburn play, not because they're 14 year old autistics. Nobody's forcing you to donate, but dont bring unnecessary toxicity into into the thread.
And, watch out whom you're insulting, because these were the same "autistics" who made those intercontinental I-series you used to organize a reality.

people blaming him for 100 hours per 2 weeks, but as russian, i can say, it's hard to get a job, if you're younger than 18 y.o.( SDB is 17 y.o.). Even harder to find a decently paid job (more than 150$ p/m at least. 150$ is a very small amount of money in Moscow). On the other side, it's better to get some money by yourself than wait till someone will donate to you.
Sorry for grammatical mistakes.

All this shadowburn protecting is a bit silly, I am sorry but this is how the world works, in order to have nice things you have to work to get them, the "donation perks" he is offering are things that he would do anyway not sure you could exactly classify it as working.
Being a student is expensive, likely meaning you can't afford to buy a PC, if you want to get a PC whilst being a student most people would thinking about going out and getting a job to pay for it.
People can argue that they are allowed to spend there money on whatever they want and of course this is true, I just think this is setting a shitty precedent, good at the game and want a new PC? Why don't I just offer some mge matches or a pick up game and get people to pay me for it?
Imagine if it was an open player that had posted this and you already know what the reactions would be.
I think people in this thread don't actually understand how the world works.

So lets have a hypothetical. What if a professional athlete who wasn't making a lot of money offered lessons to people in his/her respective sport to make money? Would you consider this wrong?
You're on an esports website, Shadowburn is the equivalent of a professional in our game, if he offers lessons or tips to players in an effort to make money that seems pretty fair.
And the reason no one would buy lessons from an open players is because they're an open player, same reason why people wouldn't pay for lessons from a amateur player in basketball. It's not a hard concept, you're just dense.

Dense? I do enjoy when people resort to insults.
This isn't a professional game, it has no developer support and is sustained by the good will of people.
If he had a structured plan for the lesson plans he was going to give, the tips and tricks he was going to teach me, in this hypothetical situation where I am considering paying money for lessons I would require a lot more than "I will mge you and play a pick up game from you" in the same way as I would require more than "I will 1v1 you first to 5 goals and play a kick about with your mates" from a professional footballer.
I am not sure why people find it so hard to understand that I believe you should earn your money rather than ask for it.

Ah it all comes together.
Only the people playing games that are popular deserve money to be good at it.
At least I can rest easy knowing you're not objecting because professional athletes of any sort don't actually contribute a tangible service, it's just because you don't like people getting paid to do things you don't personally consider "valuable".
If it was the first case you'd at least have some intellectual high ground.

You are a full time content created and from the small bits I have seen you seem to be extremely good at it.
I am assuming you do these things because you have a passion for the game and it makes you happy.
I am sure you also put this talent towards paid work? Plenty of people out there require this work.
I don't ask for donation drives for the happiness i get out of tf2, you don't do things in tf2 because you expect a monetary reward for it.
