I am really inconsistent at this game, like REALLY :
My problem is that i know i can be good, for example dm wise, but i am good only 5% of the time ;
For example, let's say that i played for 3 weeks nor good or bad, and suddenly i'm gonna hit WAY more things, and i'm gonna be good like that until i either stops playing for a bit, or lag ALOT (my ping can be good or shit (spiking) for a while) then i'm gonna lose alot of level (when i say alot, i'm gonna for example lose 20-7 in mge to people i would win 20-7 if i had my good level).
Usually, when i stop playing for a while, it takes me a while to get it back, but i always end up playing like i used to.
But since the holidays (didn't play for 2 months) i just can't get it back, and it's been 3 months now. And when i get crushed by people that i consider as worse than me, it just gets really frustrating, i tend to throw, and i just can't get any better...
Do you guys have any idea of how i could remain calm, and get my skill back ?

A part of it could be what you're seeing as what should be "worse than you." Examples?

Well for example mge : when i recon someone that i usually beat (easely or not whatever) and they crush me, i get frustrated cause i know i'm doing shitty strafes, my aim is bad atm ..., but i don't rly think i'm worse than them, jut "bad atm".

There's your problem. You're frustrated. People underestimate how much frustration and fatigue can factor in your performance. It's important that you stay calm and don't let shit get to you. The calmer you'll be, the better you'll do overall. Also make sure to not play for too many hours straight. I usually hit my skill peak during the 25%-50% of that day's playtime. Afterwards, it just goes down-hill.

the more you practice the more consistent you will be, you will have a slump but you can make it through it

Don't try your hardest, you don't need to sweat in order to do well.
Be calm, play smart, take your time.
If you're getting angry over something, take a deep breath and move on.

MGE doesn't measure anything but your aim at the given time. A shitty soldier could two-shot you by shooting at the walls and shatter your confidence for the remainder of the match regardless. It's probably more about your need to perform above the average. I've played together with several high div scouts and the majority focused on tactics and health conservation over aim. They all did great.

It's fine for your goal to be a better aim, but honestly if that's gonna rule your mindset every match you need to switch some priorities around. I remember a thread years ago saying "Try looking at your crosshair instead of the enemy" and people said it changed their game entirely. Aim is a finicky thing, gamesense isn't. Play often, not in a row, make aim secondary priority. Their DM won't matter shit if you're outplaying them on positioning, communication and awareness.

this is bad advice. you should obviously never get angry about mge (or tf2 at all) but you will never improve unless you try your hardest. just try to win and remember no one cares how well you do in mge

Just dm its fun and it works + you play with more skilled players this is for your aim nothing else like communication.

What helped me most was to realize that as a scout, you gotta wait for the frags to come to you, don't go chasing them.
Honestly scout is a certain way is the weakest class in really close quarters if you chase a soldier into lets say sewer or IT in process ur gonna get fucked.

Hello I am also an inconsistent player. What helps me is just being in the chillzone when I play. Make sure you're well hydrated, well fed, and well masturbated so that ur mind won't have bad thoughts goin on. play in a well lit room so your eyes aren't tired. One thing I like to do ask myself if my crosshair is actually over the enemy before I decide to quick. Obviously I'm not literally asking myself that question but sometimes slowing down your aim a little can help.

Sleshwhen i get crushed by people that i consider as worse than me, it just gets really frustrating, i tend to throw, and i just can't get any better...

If they're beating you it means they're doing something right, and evidently more consistently given that you're the one writing this post. So don't assume they're worse because you've had days where your DM is better.

Consistency in gaming, like any other skill, is built with practice. If you're going to get frustrated every time you lose then throw, you're not doing anything to fix your problem of inconsistency.

I'm assuming you wrote this because you have the will to become more consistent with your aim, or plays. You should probably start with you attitude, it's like 75% of the battle to improvement. Capnfapn's right, you need to be in the chillzone. :)

If you're good 5% of the time you're not good. You're just remembering you performing above average and thinking that's how you should be performing when in fact that is just you having a good day and your average performance isn't as good. This doesn't mean that you can't practice and make that amazing day your every day, but you just aren't there yet.

If you're saying that the playing badly 95% of the time only happens when you haven't played in a while then you should try mgeing/dming a lot until you feel your dm is back where it was before you took time off and then actually try pugging/scrimming. Not worrying about your positioning when you are trying to get your aim after a long break usually really helps me.

As far as the raging thing, whenever I get mad at TF2 I just remember the game is basically dead and nobody cares how well you do because it's not like you're going to make any money off it anyway. Just chill and play because it's a game you have fun playing. Also !hud in mge is your best friend. I have an alias that turns off chat and types !hud so that I never know who I'm mgeing and always just try my best without going on tilt much. I'd also recommend turning off domination notices and killstreak notices if you find yourself seeing those a lot in mge because those can make you tilt too.
