Anyone here into pop punk, punk, ska, or any similar genres? Never really came across someone else in the comp tf2 community into any of those genres. I know you're out there somewhere.

Favorite band all time definitely blink 182, whos is actually coming out with a new album in 2016. Taking back sunday and yellowcard are up there as well. Currently really into modern baseball, the front bottoms, carousel kings, somos, seahaven, and others.

what are you guys listening to? I feel as though I've come across most bands I'd be into, but always looking for more with similar sounds.

panic at the disco's a fever you can't sweat out is one of my favorite albums of all time, not a fan of their other material. other than that album it's usually I'm really fucking with it or i can't stand it. i used to really like mcr's three cheers for revenge when i was 13 haha

i don't like that much other strictly pop punk bands unless it's more on the emo side
i absolutely can't stand modern baseball tho they just make me wanna listen to american football
this was a good pop punk album i listened to recently, im pretty sure elliott put me on this. it's p good

Been really diggin Streetlight Manifesto for a while and Title Fight and The Wonder Years more recently. Don't know much more ska / ska punk besides Streetlight Manifesto or Reel Big Fish :( Some recommendations would be great.

Also really dig Dance Gavin Dance but Rise Records bands get weirder every year

Can't go wrong with Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance either

Funny this thread comes up, I was studying for a calc final last night and randomly came across two hour live show of Green Day live at Reading 2013. I watched the whole two hours, it was super nostalgic for me and I had zero regrets haha.

At this point my musical tastes probably hint more towards genres like indie rock/pop, but I grew up on bands like Green Day, Yellowcard, Blink 182, Fall Out Boy, and MCR amongst a ton of others.

I suggest listening to any old NHL soundtracks (not sure about the newer ones). They have songs from various artists, 90% of them being punk pop.

NHL 2004 is my personal favourite soundtrack.

I don't listen to a lot of music that's actually just pop punk very much, but I've been on and off into punk for a while - I'm usually more into the diy scene though. The only band you really listed in op that I ever fucked with very much was modern baseball, and I liked their first album (sports) a lot, but their second album was one of my biggest disappointments of 2014. They had released a couple singles and stuff on splits (they did one with the marietta band kev linked coincidentally) in between their albums and most of those tracks were better than anything on ygmia tbh. I saw them at a show in someone's basement in chicago a couple years ago though and had a chat with one or two of them - cool guys.

There aren't really a lot of punk releases from the past year or 2 that I've liked very much - the only one in recent memory was winter break's self titled. Gloss' ep was ok if you're into queercore I guess.

Pop-punk wise..

Midtown made a fantastic album called "Forget What You Know", and then broke up. Then the lead singer went on to form COBRA STARSHIP somehow and turned into a total shit for brains bro-hipster.

But the album is fantastic musically and still stands up to this day, for me at least.

Also used to spin Armor For Sleep - What To Do When You Are Dead a bunch, as well as the "Chuck" and "Does This Look Infected" albums by Sum 41. Recommended.

In terms of non-pop sounding punk I could go on all day

my whole childhood I was listening to punk-rock and actually tried to belong to punk culture with funny clothes, chains, drinking all days and listening to music
bands like the clash, sex pistols, the adicts, dead kennedys (their frankenchrist is my favorite punk-rock album), exploited, black flag, NOFX, and especially the ramones, who for a long time were my favorite band of all, will always be in my heart, although they are rather generic these days
I was listening to alot of ska too but can't remember any band now for some reason
good times

I am a big fan of punk and I listen to all kinds of punk music, mostly Swedish stuff. I don't listen to a lot of pop punk however, I find pop punk to be somewhat annoying to listen to. Too catchy.

people already mentioned it but, streetlight manifesto, goldfinger, less than jake, reel big fish, big d and the kids table, old blink 182, old greenday, NOFX , the toy dolls. If you are willing to listen music in spanish, ska-p is one an excelent ska-punk band.
