ive been watching a few streams lately and ive noticed some of the streamers saying that they have bad computers (shade especially). it got me thinking, if a player is good on a shitty computer than they have been using for a while how would it effect said player if he/she upgraded to a top of the line setup? would that player be able to increase his or her skills?

Streamers with bad computers makes me a little skeptical because streaming will usually reduce your performance by a lot (don't stream if your computer can't handle TF2). Also, there was a topic like this before:

More likely that they're talking about dropping fps because of streaming where as they normally dont drop framerate while they aren't streaming.

ya I think that player would be able to get better. playing with low fps really sucks because when you are bouncing between 40-100 fps because of your shit setup its like your sensitivity is changing constantly and it is hard to aim consistently

as #5 said, s went from a bottom of the barrel setup (lowest hitting 40fps) to a brand new setup with a 120hz monitor with 120fps+ and improved a lot

I think this is almost the same as switching from a crap mouse to a gaming mouse. Your skill can only go so far with bad equipment, at some point you'll be playing against people just as good as you, but they'll have an advantage because they are using a mouse/computer that gives them an advantage, rather then a disadvantage.

I went a few years with a ball mouse, but it got to a point that I couldn't progress any further because everyone had a larger advantage over me. I bought a gaming mouse and I was able to become so much better, and I had no excuses for losing;other than I had not practiced hard enough.
