I decided to purchase a CRT with at least 120 hz since I can't afford a 120 hz monitor. Any suggestions with links?
look for a diamontron or a trinitron. though those are normally like 130 + shipping these days on the internet so you'll need to scour local it departments and stuff
Your best bet is probably craigslist. Just look for postings with crt monitors and search make/model for a manual and perhaps some reviews. Make sure it can do at least >~110hz (crts don't usually hit 120 on the mark many are like 116 or 118hz). Make sure also to check the driver situation as some monitors are weird with windows 7 and you have to pull some voodoo to make them to operate at their max refresh rates, but that's sort of unusual.
Most crts you will find only go over 100hz at 1024x768 or lower, but that really shouldn't be a problem since tf2 is completely fine at low resolutions.
You should be able to get one at free or near free unless it is especially nice because people just want to get the heavy, huge, and outdated object out of their homes.

What size Trinitron should I get? There are too many!
Get an LCD. The extra radiation from your CRT isn't worth the hundred dollars you saved.
watch Craigslist for a couple weeks and try to find a good deal

I found a 19in Hitachi trinitron for 35 dollars. The owner didn't post an actual picture of the CRT nor did he state the condition so I'll wait for a response until then. On Ebay, I found a 19in Dell Trinitron with a starting bid of 10 dollars which seems like a huge scam. So until then, I'll just deal with my 60 hz LED.

i was going to buy a crt, but i changed my mind because they take up too much power, and i think they're hard on the eyes
i got my 21" dell trinitron for free off of craigslist
I'd get a CRT but I don't want 7/8 of my desk being taken by my monitor. Besides, I'm afraid to use 120Hz, it might make every monitor besides my own annoying.
issue with ebay is youll pay like $50 shipping
