Didn't he no show to an official game about a month ago? Pretty questionable pickup I feel and with him not really performing to well on his previous team anyway I don't think he'd do any better on a top NA team going against even better teams in international tournaments.

would rather see this pickup then most, an up and coming talent, added firepower and unproven. Most teams would just pick up the same dude thats gone through teams over and over accomplishing nothing important just because of their rep, I like the idea of taking a chance on someone like Stewie

Adding stewie is not where cloud 9 needs to go as an org if they want serious lan finishes. Stewie's probably going to taking nothings spot of a lurker and nothing is gonna igl, but he's a much weaker igl than sgares by a longshot. The issue c9 has is that they're one-track minded and inconsistent with singular performances, and adding a puglord isn't going to fix that, at least not for a very very long time. Stewie's a fine player but he's not what c9 needs right now.

This is a mad stupid pickup imo. Just like pyth idk what this does for the team actually... at best he can turn into a shroud like player which isn't what they need. Maybe they try and move shroud into a lurk role or support and make n0thing lurk like he used to because of his passive play style and make stewie their star player have n0thing igl. Idk maybe it could do something but they have no caller which is a really bad idea

Pyth is a good pickup, nip's weak link has been friberg for the last year and a half now. Strategically xizt/GTR have not really done anything exciting but almost every time they try to do something friberg dies quickly or baits his teammates as an entry fragger. Pyth can at least entry, but they still have a deadweight of a player sitting on the team.

personally if you ask me the reason they keep friberg is he doesnt cheat (he is bad every game and dies at the same time while also baiting his teammates as entry fragger) and they use his urine/blood for cheat tests when at majors (the rest of the team continues to cheat and pyth will be introduced to these cheats soon enough). sad how the greats like f0rest and gtr have sunk so low

give stewie a few lans and he'll become the next swag. c9 will do fine vs NA just because of how good their aim is. they don't even need strats because they will have a monster default. for example, look at rgn lan with swag. expect n0thing to adopt a happy style of igling. there is mostly going to be 4 - 1 setups with n0thing lurking until he gets better at calling. im excited to see how they do!

This situation reminds me of sumaiL from dota; guy was 15 and recently immigrated from Paktisan, and was crazy in the in-house league; EG saw his skill and potential and took the risk and picked him up. He kinda flopped at his first event with them, but then when DAC (Dota Asian Championship) came, he performed amazing and EG won. Throughout the months before Ti5 they had consistent podium finishes and EG started to play around sumaiL, and even Storm Spirit, sumaiL's signature hero, went up in play rate. When Ti5 came he was unbelievable and EG won the biggest prize pool in esports history.

I'm not saying that C9 is going to become the greatest cs team ever, but I'm hopeful that Stewie will do well and help the team play well as a whole. Hopefully he shows up with C9 and silences the doubters.

I don't think it's like sumail at all. Playstyle differences in Dota and CSGO are wayyy different. Most pubs are played the way pro games are and there may be a few pubby builds and shit but there really isn't a way to get past smart play and perfect mechanical skills

In CSGO you can have nutty aim run around pop flashing yourself in and just taking aim duel after aim duel.

But yeah I think after a lan or two he can be perfectly fine for sure

difference being EG has one of the best captain/drafters in dota that helped a pubstar become a world class mid player, while c9 now has no igl

Knowing currently that n0thing will be leading this pug squad and getting them ready for LANs is frightening.

It was either Sgares or nothings stream that one of them said sean was going to work with nothing, as well as for a long time it was sean and nothing who designed their strats together, it might be rough at first, but id like to think that the transition could be not as bad as people make it out to be, then again i tend to have blind faith. Hard to say.
