hey guys. i have a pair of akg k240 mk2s that i really want to start using for gaming because the quality owns, but i don't want to wait for whatever delays the modmic guys are having. anything else you guys can recommend in that price range that would accomplish the same task?

if you're just waiting on a modmic and need something temporary go with a zalmon clip on. They're cheap and don't last a long time but if you just need something to hold you over till you can get a modmic then it'll do the job.

The modmic is waaay better than the zalman clip on mic(granted it costs a lot more, but 30 bucks isn't exactly a lot of money) so if you're on the fence for the modmic, just get it and wait. Desktop mics can be fine for some people, but they pick up more background noise than something close to your face like a headset mic or the modmic.

Here's a comparison of the zalman vs the modmic in case you were wondering(I don't have a desktop mic to complete the trio of normal candidates).

He can get the Zalman mic as a temporary/backup one while he waits for a Modmic.

If you already have a working mic, then I would buy the Modmic and wait.

I read somewhere that Deal Extreme can take a long time to ship things, like a month or so. Having said that, it looks like a sick budget combo since I also read in the same thread that their clip on mic sounds great(probably the same mic).
