You can't just put all the blame on me. I made 1 post and then like 20 people felt like they needed to reply, some of them just because it was me posting it. Also immigration is a relevant topic and it's pretty hypocritical to blame me for derailing the thread while everyone else also continues to derail the thread.

My thoughts and prayers are with everyone in Belgium, especially those from our community. I hope everyone's alright.

I feel truly blessed, my brother was looking at flights and would have had a lay over today in Brussels had he not chosen a different route. He's totally rocked by how close to it all he could have been, quite frankly I think everyone who knows him is too. I'm blessed none of my family was affected, and I hope all of our community is lucky enough to be in the same boat.

Same goes for our friends in the CS community, including pros like ScreaM and ex6tenz, can't imagine what they're going through, especially so close to the major.

I can't imagine what those in Belgium are going through. If you need someone to talk/freak out to, I'm sure I'm not the only one in our great community willing to listen. Nos pensées sont avec vous.

my uncle is in an apartment building near the subway that got bombed, but they went into lockdown and he is safe right now so assume the best people.

Not every refugee is a Muslim. Judaism and Christianity are both major religions in the Middle East and North Africa where these refugees are coming from. There are also many other minority religions in those regions. Who knows, maybe some are agnostic/atheist? Why does it even matter? Would make much more sense to refer to them as "millions of Middle Easterners/North Africans" rather than painting them all under the same brush which is a mistake that repeatedly gets made on this topic.

Yes not ALL of them but the vast majority are Muslim. In syria it's at least 90% Muslim, in Iraq it's probably higher than 95%. Basically it's at least 90% for these countries so it's safe to assume that the refugees are mainly Muslim. I hate to say this but it's the Muslims that are causing the problems, there might be a couple of non-Muslims in there causing problems but the vast majority is Muslim.

Seems like common sense. I said it's very likely that a VERY SMALL number might be in with the refugees. Seems to me like it's not that far out there to assume that.

Pretty sure you can easily see that a lot of them aren't finding jobs or just can't find any due to lack of qualifications or English. You could find this out with just a google search link

If the immigration is controlled then it's much much easier to find them jobs. You can make sure you are bringing in qualified people who know English and who are willing to work.

Also when you take in people from 3rd world Muslim countries you need to remember that the culture over there is much different, certain things that are seen as crime over here are totally fine over there. Some of them even think pedophilia is totally ok and there was recently a massive thing in the uk with possibly hundreds of children being affected. Before Elliott starts crying, i'm not saying they are all pedophiles but it's not just this. Just look at the video I linked, many of them think it's fine to just start attacking people they don't like, look at the German cologne attacks and the other countless rapes and assaults, many of which have been covered up by the Swedish and German governments. Obviously not all of them are like this but if the immigration was controlled instead of just opening up and letting everyone in, you could control it and only let in those who are qualified, will contribute to society and are therefore much less likely to cause trouble.

This thread was about the Brussels terrorist attacks, yet you made it about immigration. You associate one of the most horrendous and unthinkable type of events in society with a general phenomenon of movement of people between nations. Terrorism is about fear (phobia). Immigrants are the xenos. Do I need to spell out the rest?

You're being an asshole towards the people that were directly or indirectly victimized by this horrible attack by hijacking the topic to put forward your own agenda. YOU killed this thread. If you want to talk about immigration or whatever (most probably) unfounded opinion you have on other subjects, go make new threads. That's how a forum works. Some good news a few of my close friends who were across in Brussells coming back from their holiday in Bruges are all safe.

If civil war suddenly broke out in the US and its refugees migrated to Europe to get away, would you refer to those refugees as Christians or Americans based on the fact that roughly 71% of Americans consider themselves Christians? Still seems like it makes more sense to refer to them by their nationality/region rather than a label for their own personal beliefs to me.

Based on what biscuits said I find it hard to agree that it's common sense.
