Just curious about how hard this would be to implement. It can be kind of infuriating during some rollouts to be pushed around. Are there any negative characteristics to putting this on during comp play?

sinnerIt's kind of bad for 6's because you can hide snipers in heavies and stupid things like that. IMO
you make that sound like its op even though it's not. 2 players not moving at all = easy shots.

Isn't there also the chance that if the sniper hangs too far back he actually shoots the heavy's model and not the intended target?

a sniper that is shooting is also an easy target, get 1 headshot on the heavy and you're gonna drop the other team's sniper and then you still have a sniper to deal with.

Sniper's hit scan penetrates team mates. It could not have as big of an effect as I think but it's worth discussing.

I play on a pub with this off and the rockets still seem to hit teammates.

you can easily tell by listening to which one cries out in pain.
also, just btw. the whole medic inside heavy thing is very impractical and would mostly by used in extreme situations such as defending last 2v4.

In ye days of olde it used to be strategy to have the medic jump in corners and have the pocket stand in between him and attacking scouts. This was back when oplaid was THE SCOUT
Either way, why not run some pugs and try it out. It seems like it could marginally beneficial to the game without really taking anything away.

Worth testing imo. Why not try it out and then decide whether to use it or not? Most opinions will be uneducated until the majority of people play with this setting.

Snipers can already shoot through teammates as of an update last year (or 2011?), they might as well make this allow projectiles and other hitscan do it.

We use this in au and it's fine. Nobody hides snipers in heavies or any dumb shit like that, it just means the demo can't blame anyone for failing his rollout.
