boomer joins -bird noises-, Linkuser out

After placing 5th in ESEA Invite last season, -bird noises- have decided to shuffle up their roster. A few weeks ago, Hellbent was cut from the team due to synergy issues; most recently, Linkuser has decided to step down from the team to focus on his real life concerns. After trialing for a replacement for Hellbent, the team has finalized on picking up boomer to take his place for the upcoming season.

The pickup will mark boomer’s return to Invite since Season 15. The longtime veteran has a wealth of experience. He’s played every fragging class at some point on a top 4 invite team, and has countless LANs under his belt. It has been speculated if the release of matchmaking would start to bring back well known players of the past, boomer is the first to prove that theory correct.

Vand spoke to us about the pickup and his hopes for next season:

I'm incredibly excited to jump into S22 of invite and try my hardest alongside boomer. I would imagine some people find the decision a little questionable since it hasn't even been a month since boomer has really been back in the scene, but he has a great attitude towards teamwork and the game itself that is very similar to the rest of -bird noises-. That (attitude) was one of the most important things for us to consider while we were searching for new additions to the team and helps ensure we have solid practices to build a team with going into S22.

Boomer is still a great player as well, so it should be exciting to see him become truly comfortable again and call as the pocket in the context of our team. We have chosen to move Voll over to the roamer role and hope to see great successes with that change as well by having a more secure, creative flank altogether. All we need now is a solid scout to join us and complete our roster, which hopefully will happen within the next week or so since we have been keeping a close eye on a few options.

As far as Linkuser, he unfortunately had to step down as a starter due to needing to take care of his family and focus on school.

The team is still searching for a replacement for Linkuser, and we will keep you updated on the roster changes.

It's probably not even that he isn't a good pickup, it's that he deserves to be on a better team. But who knows, bird noises might have already improved alot since he's joined

passing the formalities of me reminding you how little of this world you understand

the 'why' is more of a 'why does boomer come back to tf2 and play with people he never played tf2 with before?'

all the teams he played on were groups of his longtime friends and it seems an odd fit as he doesnt present to be the same kind of player as the rest of the team

i have no idea how their mumble is or how hes been fitting in or performing and i have 0 doubt that he can perform very well and lead this team to be much stronger than last season

its just a wierd odd fit that i probably wouldnt have believed unless i read it in an article
