I've been to a couple of plays on Broadway, saw The Book of Mormon two years ago. Definitely quality show and had great seats. You'll have a great time at Hamilton

I'm not a big fan of plays but I saw the Lion King on broadway and it was fucking amazing. If you haven't seen LK in play before I'd defs recommend it

I went to NYC for a few days every fall from like 2005-2008 and then a few more trips later on. Just got back last Friday from a week trip there. Caught shows every single time. Probably the best ones I remember were The Producers and Les Miserables. Phantom and Chicago are both really solid choices as well. Disney ones are a mixed bag but Lion King is definitely great.

Tickets were from the official site pretty much always... you can get cheaper tickets outside, but you don't have as much choice in where you sit or anything, so I wouldn't recommend that as much. And it's nice to have the guarantee of actually having tickets at a specific time ahead of time. If you do wanna get them there you should try checking with your hotel concierge and stuff as well, some of them can help you get them, but I don't know if that goes for everywhere though. Not much experience with getting them indirectly though so can't give much advice re: that approach.

BTW, Les Mis is closing this year, I'd highly recommend seeing that as well if you can get a chance. It's better if you've read the (extremely-long) book though, I saw it back in like 2006 before it closed for awhile and it was kinda hard to follow everything, read it since then and this time around I enjoyed it more. But it was still really good the first time as well.
