So...Ugc's 'anti-cheat team' had not reviewed pov demos of the platinum finals until now...and now they find 'conclusive evidence' of cheating after knowing which players were vacced, while never finding any previous grounds to accuse those characters?

nobody was accused of cheating so they had no reason to lol
there are plenty of things that can tip off an anticheat team looking at povs without tipping off players in the game as well so it isnt super surprising

Re-read your second sentence, then consider the first .

The only person who was previously accused is Kev.
Check your privs at the door.
The only thing you should probably be miffed about is why Kev was allowed to progress as far as he did.

? not sure what you mean, the second sentence proves my point by saying that the players may not have seen things that the ac team did after the fact - the demos were not looked over until now bc of that.

Cheaters will not be reviewed unless they are accused. If nobody accuses/reports them to an AC/UGC admin, then they will not be reviewed. As far as this goes, this is entirely on the players to do this. If you do not report the players, then they will not be reviewed incase this will not be clear to anyone.
The stupid part is how afraid people are of reporting someone because they'll gain 'bad rep' for it. First off, mocking someone for reporting someone is retarded in itself, and being afraid of being mocked because you want to stop a fucking cheater from playing the game is also dumb af.

Apparently I need to make my posts as explicit as possible to be understood by highlander players:
The platinum finals is the most important UGC match each season and what UGC is known for amongst the masses of tf2 players. I don't think it's a sign of 'privs' to expect an 'anti-cheat team' to review one of the only relevant games of the entire league for cheating once a season. If they never review anything unless prompted by a player, retrograde's post offered a concise explanation of why that policy is flawed (despite your somehow thinking it shows the opposite).
How often do you think a platinum player will go to league admins calling another plat player a hacker? I suspect the number can be counted on one hand.

That it is easier to detect cheating in a pov demo than ingame is why it should not be up to the players to initiate any cheating oversight whatsoever.

that makes zero sense ROFL do u expect the ac team to look at every fucking game? player reports are an important part of ac and expecting the admins to watch every game to make sure nobody is cheating is absurd.

You must have learned how to argue from reddit. "The only choice is to have no unprompted reviews or we'd have to ask the team to review every single match roflstomper".
A good place to start would be to review finals and some small amount of plat matches selected at random during the season, similar to real sports' random drug tests.
If you think this is too much work for the 'team', I'd recommend finding a new team, as I expect enough people could be scrounged up from this forum alone who would be willing to do it.

random pov demo checks is being implemented next season (rumor has it) but that still means that prompted reviews are a big part of the league. i dont think u understand how big the league is.

it's so big that unprompted reviews are impossible! roflstomper

can u stop using the word roflstomper it actually gives me cancer
they are possible but are usually a waste of time. this is an isolated incident and while it does make sense to review grand finals that doesnt even begin to cover games in other divisions and all throughout playoffs, which would be hard to completely review. all of those games have a huge impact as well.

"real sports" have lots of money and resources to work with. shit, many of those real sports won't do it on the basis that it costs money, bellator is the sleaziest of the sleazy for this type of thing, and keep in mind that's an example of a for-profit company.
what makes you think a community-run non-profit league could justify it?
