DiplomattzeFrostyWhy is it a vote to get in? Surely a battle to the death would be more approriate!
I agree. Playoffs like we have in ETF2L are a lot fairer than a vote.
ESEA doesn't do promotion tournaments - it seems to be one of their core philosophies.

you guys can argue all day long if you want but at the end of the day would you honestly be able to look cookiejacob in the eyes and say "you don't deserve to be in invite"?
we all know who needs to win this poll

mustardoverlordI do think dog2 is overall the best choice tho
it basically comes down to if you think froot on pocket is enough of a dumpster fire to negate the rest of the stuff in dog2's favor, which I don't
at least when i tell froot to jump he propels himself at the enemy as opposed to either straight up or nowhere at all

breaking it down:
experience together- dog2 prevails
main calling- dog2 is better
rosters:
sureshot and hellbent are SIGNIFICANTLY better than froot and rolling, that's uncharted's biggest advantage
ex and blues are overall better than mu and split
mausy and mae are really close, mausy has the invite experience but mae is improving really quickly and could be better by the end of the season
cookiejake is better than luc

Not taking anything away from dog2 scouts and medic, but how can you say with a straight face that lucrative with tons of experience is worse than cookie jake and mu with invite experience is worse than blues and ex

The most standout lesson I take from bird noises is that playing invite requires dedication and seriousness. i know my team has it, that's why i joined them in the first place. If broking did have it, he'd be an actual good player (that's why i told u you dont deserve to be in invite broking). I would hope dog2 has it idk though; i dont know much about their inner workings.
As players, their demo and roamer are most promising, decent scout combo, and a good maincaller medic. I don't know much about froot other than he played a season in IM as roamer so I can't really say much to that.
It doesnt surprise me the only people that actually play 6s and are arguing you should 100% vote dog2 are either part of their circlejerk, or people that outright hate me and luc. Fact of the matter is I wouldn't know how to vote if i wasnt on either team. I'd say theyre about even, but it rarely matters now as much as it matters later. Just because a player is older doesn't mean he doesnt posses the ability to improve. In fact that maturity might be what stops the team from collapsing
To clear things up I don't hate you mustard i just find you talk too fast and are really annoying to play with. I dont hate you either broking im just angry that a good player like yourself doesnt achieve anything because he doesnt take the game seriously

realistically though, i don't think polls are a viable way of selecting who gets the final spot in invite, not to mention there being a limit on invite teams in the first place (will get into this later). i'll admit it, i think a lot of the reason we have more votes currently is because we're the favorable team in terms of popularity, but that's not to say we won't be just as competitive as Uncharted. the way some of you guys are looking at this like "well Uncharted has the most capability of being top 4 !!" is just wrong, i think personally. the way i view invite is, teams who have just broken into invite for their first season together shouldn't be expecting to get top 4, they should use the opportunity to improve, build up individual skill and team chemistry, and prove themselves capable to compete for a higher position in the following season. sure, a majority of their players have already played invite, but all of them individually of each other as well as several seasons ago in some of their cases. i know at least this is how my team will be going into this season, even if we happen not to get promoted, we'd be playing just to improve as much as possible and show we can compete in the following season, and i am pretty sure that Uncharted and even Dagger's team would be going into invite with this mindset, which is good on them and it makes it even more hindering to take the chance away from them.
either way, in a perfect world, i think all three deserve the chance just based on the fact that they all show signs of desire to improve. you guys can say "well you can still improve in IM" all you want, but the fact of the matter is playing higher skill leveled teams will almost always accelerate rates of improvement, and all of the players on all three teams have proven their success in IM, so why not give them a shot in invite? people are always complaining about the recent lack of competition in the division, with all of the older and more experienced players starting to leave, but how can we even attempt to replace them when situations like this arise? i cant really argue the ESEA admins' decisions on available spots in invite, because i'm sure theres a rule that describes exactly why there's 9 slots, but i do think that if a team wants to improve and they're even considerable enough to be put into a poll to be promoted, they should just get the chance anyway.

Yes, hence it's a lesson.
Although I did have that level during most of the season, it wasnt present in the beginning weeks nor the weeks we played froyo/ronin back to back. The decision was mostly due to that and that I couldnt physically make the time because of school/job. It's been an issue for awhile, all I can really do is really make use of the little time I have.
It is the summer though, so I can finally put high school hours in for awhile :D

with 9 teams you play the other 8 teams twice.
schedules already can affect placing just because of teams strong and weak map pools, but anymore than 9 teams and random scheduling can affect who makes playoffs. Team 9 might play top3 teams 6 times, and team 10 might play top3 teams 8 times. giving them 8 losses.

With 9 weeks in the Invite season, it's possible to just add another team and two games to the schedule for 18 games evenly spread out instead of the weird scheduling of 16 games there is now. There may be other reasons for having it this way (like some requirement to only have 16 games in the season), but who knows.
