4th DreamHack Summer Qualifier by TFCups

Sign-ups are now open for the 4th DreamHack Summer TF2 Open Qualifier by TFCups! Register a team on Razer Arena and join the open tournament on Saturday, 21st May. Read on below for schedule, details, and format.

Congratulations to Nameless, who walked away last week with 1000 euros and an invitation to the DreamHack Summer TF2 LAN in June! Only one place remains, with our final tournament this weekend!

Based on their placings in the 3rd Closed Qualifier, the invited teams to the final Closed Qualifier on Sunday 22nd May are:

To find the four teams that will join them in competing for 1000 euros and an invite to DreamHack Summer, an open tournament will again be run on Saturday, 21st May. Any team is welcome to sign up and prove themselves against our four top teams from last week.

All games are BO3, and now feature map vetoes along with a coaching system! These are new additions to Razer Arena, and is all automated through their system. Your team leader will be able to veto and pick maps for the series, in a pick/ban/pick format from the ETF2L map pool. A coach can sign up for your team, though it is not required, and will be able to spectate your team's POVs only. It is imperative that you do not forget to check in, or arrive late to a fixture! The admins will be unforgiving to teams who arrive late and miss the deadline.

Saturday 21st May - Open Tournament:

17:30 CEST - Ro32
19:30 CEST - Ro16
21:30 CEST - Ro8

Sunday 22nd May - Closed Tournament:

17:30 CEST - Quarter Finals
19:30 CEST - Semi Finals
21:30 CEST - Final

Rules

Rules mirror the ETF2L Season 23 ruleset and whitelist unless specified on the Razer Arena rule page. For the invitation to DreamHack Summer to be valid, your LAN roster must contain at least 3 of the players you used to qualify. None of the players from Perilous Gaming, SUAVE, or Nameless who played in the Final may enter this cup.

Last week we only had 8 teams for the open tournament, which is far less than we hope for. The best way you can contribute to TF2's growth is by participating in cups! Don't sit idly by and watch sponsors drop interest in TF2, sign up now.

The coaching thing is very interesting to me, it's been discussed before but I think it could be really good for some teams where calling is an issue.

He will join his team as a 7th player, but won't be able to choose a class and spawn. It's basically the same as dead player spectating his teammates so only first person view and no outline/healthbar on enemies.
