I know that you can use both dual dvi and displayport cables to get 144hz on your monitor.
I can plug the DisplayPort cable into my monitor, but theres literally no where to plug it into my computer. Is there like something else that im missing to put the two together????

did you right click desktop > screen resolution > advanced > monitor and change it from 60 to 144? it doesn't happen automatically

i did check my screen resolution/nvidia options for the drop down bar that allows you to select 144hz, its like just not an option
EDIT: atleast i dont have an 144hz option for 1920x1080, i have it for a few other lower resolutions like 1024x720

Okay guys, I added the op and the issue has been resolved. He was using a single link dvi cable as apposed to the proper dual link dvi cable. He was connecting it properly and all that. His pc supports dual link dvi no problem it was the cable that was messing it up.

On my first laptop (old toughbook) I accidentally fried it by putting the charger in a USB port instead of the charger port right next to it.
To be fair to myself, if it didn't go in so easily I would have noticed that I was putting it in the wrong port.
However, this is worse. This isn't even legos, it's that circle/square/triangle peg thing. If something doesn't go right in, don't force it in or you'll break the whole thing.
Also expecting good performance with a 720, lol

I just didn't expect you to use a GT 720 as a compute card since you wanted to connect a 144Hz monitor to it. Also I've seen asians with a pocket calculator get compute work done faster than that card.
