Just looking at over watch twitch viewership compared to tf2 twitch viewership is saddening. I dream of TF2 becoming a major e-sport it deserves to be.

yeah it's small, but the recent esea grand finals were far more viewed than last season, and we still havent actually seen what valve is going to do with competitive tf2

I hope it's hype, but it is actually depressing seeing ex top TF2 players move to OW to chase that dollar green, though I should be happy for them, since seagull probably makes good money off video games.
그냥 슬프게한다 OVERWATCH TWITCH VIEWERSHIP TF2 TWITCH VIEWERSHIP에 비해 찾고. 나는 할 가치가 큰 전자 스포츠되고 TF2의 꿈.
The game isn't even that special, yeah it's kinda fun but the only reason for those numbers is the shitloads of bags of money blizzard has been dumping on its promotion.
Unfortunatelly Valve's structure doesn't cover the concept of advertising, or customer service for that matter.

Also note that the game just came out very recently, and usually a new game on Twitch gets a lot of viewers so that's also a thing that contributes to the viewership
tf2 mm is basically the only thing that can take tf2 to the next level, it did it for csgo so there is still hope, considering the fact that when csgo mm came out, everybody hated it and nobody played it we should not be worried, we have to wait and be patient. OW is the hearthstone of tf2

overwatch wouldn't be as popular if Blizzard didn't make it

and tf2 wouldnt be as popular if valve didnt make it, whats ur point lol
OW is a terrible spectator sport from watching some tournaments
If people thought TF2 was bad then they really will not be able to watch OW. If the camera isnt in 3rd person you just have no idea whats happening because of the amalgamation of colors on your screen.

I dont know shit about mobas, but im guessing LoLs popularity made the genre's popularity as an esport at least in part lead to dota 2's massive popularity. Maybe a similar thing will happen and tf2 will become the "dota 2" to overwatch by being the older, more established and in many people's opinion more challenging game.
I didn't intend for this thread to end up in the dumpster, I actually wanted a good discussion about tf2's future, and receive a reassurance that tf2 will continue on and possibly thrive as a major e-sport later on. Though
