I'm looking for recommendations on other FPS games (single- or multiplayer) that I would likely be able to run at decent framerates. For reference, I get ~50 fps in TF2.
Games that I've already played:
- No One Lives Forever
- Far Cry
- AssaultCube
- Portal
- Fistful of Frags
- BioShock (bit laggy)
- Dead Space (bit laggy)
- Mirror's Edge (bit laggy)
- Halo 1 & 2
- Half-Life 1 & 2
- CoD 2 & 4
I tried Quake Live, TF:C and Urban Terror but the skill-curve is unappealing; haven't tried CS:Source but again worried about the skill-curve, plus I'm not sure if the community is active enough to warrant playing. I'm thinking about System Shock 2 but it looks complicated.
Games I can't run:
- Borderlands
- CS:GO
- Mass Effect
- Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath
- Peter Jackson's King Kong
- Left 4 Dead 2
- Ratz Instagib

Serious Sam. FEAR. Deus Ex. There's prolly some Id bundle with all the old Quakes, Dooms, Heretic, Hexen, etc.

Doom 2 via Zandronum if you want multiplayer or GZDoom/PrBoom+ for singleplayer.

Does Warsow play like Quake? I liked QL with bots just to practice my DM but I couldn't be bothered to learn map knowledge or bunnyhopping to play online.

Frets on Fire is pretty fun and can run on a toaster
basically guitar hero with a keyboard, it sounds a little silly but actually works really well and you can import GH or RB songs or custom made ones
edit: i cant read fuck
Urban Terror

Well the OP said FPS games which I assume in this case means first-person shooters but if you mention Frets on Fire I think I should mention Phase Shift which is pretty much FoF except better (it has drums and stuff).
Not sure performance-wise but it definitely runs a lot better for me than TF2.

Urban Terror used to be pretty fun, especially once you learned the movement.
Open Arena and Nexuiz used to be pretty good, not sure how the player bases are now

Is this game even alive anymore? Unless you mean the campaign.
PankeymanNo Killing Floor?
I'll see what kind of performance I get in it.
Is Wolfteam any good? I see it on a lot of low-spec lists, although it looks P2W.

Get Half-Life 1 on Steam and play HLDM crossfire.
Its really fun and there are always 2-3 populated servers ranging from 10 to over 30 people.
Also, Quake 3 Arena is extremely fun to play even against bots on the campaign.

I believe Tribes Ascend isn't too bad. And surprisingly there are quite a bit of people that still play it

Quake 1, Ultimate doom, painkiller maybe although I'm not sure how good it'd run

His humor and what-not may be a bit cringey for some, but his videos are generally very informative and easy to follow.
