Something that I feel people don't talk about enough is the spectator experience of TF2.
It was exciting to see huge viewership on the TFTV stream when the main menu stream list was first put in place, but the increase was incredibly short lived, and soon dropped from four digit numbers to where we are now--struggling to break 500 viewers for incredibly hyped matches in invite.
My personal opinion is that spectating TF2 is a pretty poor experience.
This is entirely in spite of the wonderful job the casters and production do (shoutout to truktruk, BUICK, yimi, marblr, and everyone else recently spending a lot of time to greatly improving the competitive TF2 viewing experience!).
If Valve is listening and trying to actively improve TF2 based off the competitive community (RE: demo viewing fixes, weapon balancing, replacing prec, etc.), now would probably be a great time to discuss how competitive spectating could be improved.

It seems as though you have no idea how people even did transparent texture edits. You have to completely change the local files, and this would not get through valve's Sv_pure.
People dont put in commands to make their game transparent, cause that would be cause they are using an sv_cheat they replace files. Next dumbass in line please try me.

While I understand that would increase viewer count, it wouldn't solve the problem that post #65 brings up. I agree with him but I don't think I can come up with an easy solution. This is definitely something that needs to be discussed moving forward.
My first thoughts would be an automated camera for delayed STV. It would allow for the camera/streamer to focus on more production related things, while allowing casters to have another resource for play by play commentary. However, this would only be useful for online matches and not the most viewed games which are on LAN.
Beyond that, I'm not sure what could/should be added to improve the viewing experience.
