I recently got a laptop, which came with windows 8 (-_-) I installed magicka but I can't play it. I have already tried running xnafx31_redist from C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Magicka\Dependencies\ but the game still crashes before it even gets to the menu. Any ideas?

i did 4man groups of magicka when it first came out with everyone on win7 but we were all on good spec desktops, I'm assuming this is a laptop only issue?

I found when I recently reinstalled it, one of the required application dongles didn't install properly (not directx, something similar though). I had to navigate to the folder and manually run it. Don't know if that's the same problem at all

NabakinOkay I somehow fixed it while trying to fix another game. I installed directx from here: http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35
