Talking to Steam support is pretty pointless about this as it isn't a Steam client or Steam account issue.
Like this isn't what they are supposed to deal with at all really, this needs to just get noticed by a Valve dev asap.
You'll get there eventually but it'll take you awhile of automated/bad responses yeah. Probably the only way tho since none of my emails have got to them.

There is no fix, you wait until Valve fixes it. It has seem to randomly fix itself for people after days, but it's seemingly random and could be something on Valve's end.
Thankfully if you have UGC or something you can just make a new alt and roster it and just be missing some weapons, but eh.

Your system report indicates that McAfee Security Scan Plus is running on your computer. This software is known to interfere with the Steam client and games. Please try completely removing all of this software. Also, please unplug all none essential devices from the computer(controller, thumb drives, etc.), then restart your computer and test the issue again.
Please follow the link below for information:

If the issue persists, please reply with an updated MSINFO that reflects the changes made.
Fucks sake Valve, get some decent tech support. I mentioned multiple times to them that it works to play in offline mode and it also works to play on other accounts and that it 100% cannot be a problem on my end and they give me this shit. Fuck you valve. Fuck you
I got the same generic runaround to uninstall my CCleaner and Sound Blaster software. They also asked me to boot my computer up with nothing running in the background. Both of these "fixes" clearly did nothing and they don't seem to get that this is a TF2 bug on their side, not hardware related.

Budia TF2 bug on their side
A TF2 bug on Steam's side? Because this is a Valve problem and Steam Support can't do shit.

They helped you remove a virus at least. (McAfee really is a virus in and of its self being the actual product, That security scan plus is a virus plus a pup) If you have McAfee installed remove it and run a scan with MBAM(MalwareBytes Anti Malware) To replace McAfee with a working product look at Avast. To properly set it up follow my guide here otherwise it can interfere with TF (like any anti virus product)

with spelling like "Mcaffe", "pup", "otherwize", and "interfer" you sure are inspiring trustworthiness when you have no actual evidence to back up your claim.
also, editing your post to fix your grammar isn't helping your case.

Fixed thanks for pointing that out. Will provide prof of my claims once I get a VM set up and install a clean copy of Windows 10 with McAfee and then see how it "protects". My source is an IT tech for a living and seeing first hand that McAfee does not do much of anything for protection against malware which is far more prevalent than actual Viruses in todays age. You will notice a LOT of system resource being used from it as apposed to products like MalwareBytes and Avast with the recent update. PUP stand for potentially unwanted program (adware).
Hope that cleared that up. Will get that vm set up now.

I never claimed McAfee is great. It's pure shit. But calling it malware is going a little far, don't you think?

Their "security scan plus" is a piece of software that runs on the system for the pure purpose of selling its product to end users who aren't experienced with computers. It runs 24/7 bugging users with prompts to buy its products. I call that malware.

On reboot tf2 was dead.

I made a new thread since this thread is originally about another problem with the same error message and I've seen it confuse a lot of people, #85 & #86 and everyone else who hasn't please feel free to post dumps in it or continue correspondence with Valve employees directly. Please do not bother Steam Support, this isn't their job. Please don't talk about pointless stuff like McAfee.
