Regardless they still had to beat the best from both continents on the same day w/ map ban disadvantage in Grands - That was impressive

Now I can't wait for the other EU teams to claim spiritual 2nd best in the whole world because they were only one fraction behind Witness EU in their pocket EU universe

From a ruleset perspective, I genuinely hope americans think about things like weapons and win conditions in their games now.

Am very happy to see WG EU win, but also kinda embarrassed for G6 with how they were losing due to not fully understanding their own config, and also for all the NA teams for not using strong weapons like the loch n load. Lukas significantly out damaged his oppnent with pipes in almost every log he played in, at least partially due to the weapon.

I'm not even questioning the bans or rulesets or whitelists, just that they have been used for years and people still don't understand how they work and how to use them is embarrassing in a competitive game.

Real talk tho, EU won in large part because they had adamantium mental, one of the most tilt-proof teams I've ever seen

i’m so happy for the euros and aussies for making such insane history this weeked, but it’s also bittersweet to know that an event of this calibur won’t happen until possibly multiple tf2 generations come and go

so, so proud of the papi and the bros for taking home the victory
losing to na has been eating at them for years and im so happy to see them finally overcome it all and shutting up the dumbass idiots theyve had to listen to for the past few years
watching them celebrate after the win you can see how much it genuinely means to all of them

ngl as a european it feels incredibly nice to see americans who (for whatever reason) made us feel like the underdog the whole time.
the way some of you fuckers acted this whole weekend made this the most satisfying shit ive ever seen
your ruleset is dogshit, and thankfully, so are your teams

cheers, byte

So happy to see other regions ending the NA dominance. The whole lan was incredible to watch. Tf2 really needs more events like this.

Shamefully expected that select EU players would take wG's hard fought & deserved win over NA competition as evidence that their opinions of the game are doubtless.

ZolakSo happy to see other regions ending the NA dominance. The whole lan was incredible to watch. Tf2 really needs more events like this.

Wish your region could of joined into the competition -- like its amazing we already had the major three, but I would to LOVE TO SEE the #1 South America take a swing at it and get some upsets. From what I see online though, the airline cost to come to Denver would of costed more or less to what the Australians paid.

Besides that, hoping this LAN put 6s on the radar in Valve. Was amazing to see tagg as a guest talker at the event.

Wonder if it sad for him to see FROYO Lose, he's been there since HRG -- and he was there to witness the 2nd NA team to be world champions at i52. But Kingdom's always eventually fall... and rise... and then fall again.

I miss blaze...

Wandumamericans who (for whatever reason) made us feel like the underdog the whole time

the reasons that wg eu were underdogs were that they were playing against a team that had already beat them on two separate days without dropping a map in that same tournament
and also that eu hadnt ever won on na soil
and that they were playing on a config they aren't familiar with among unlocks they have banned
and that the team who consistently beat eu got basically replaced as #1 in rgl by the team they were playing

and in my opinion the fact that they were underdogs also makes their victory even more impressive and deserved

Were witness EU underdogs?? I thought they were the early risers day 0 with strong scrims and general aura put out. Yeh they lost to g6 but they are also a strong team. No underdog really set out of a lot of teams tbh

Gotta cut some slack for g6 on gully. Grand finals can cause one to tunnel and lose focus on tiny things like that with the stakes and adrenaline so high. Or you know they could have been so confident that they felt they didn't need to play the clock like that. Everyone has slip ups.

Personally I like you Americans and your TF2. I think all the teams have shocked me with how good and close it's been, a very clutch Lan with lots of intensity. The only vibe I'm getting from American has been positive overall. Yeh you get the odd region fanboy but that always happen and if anything has been quite tame this time round compared to the past.

Even the config I think has fantastic intentions of creating fair and satisfying winners by avoid pressure of the clock albeit with a sad tradeoff of grueling long games (for some that's too much for others not so). I think if I was a player still I'd prefer playing it this way and I promise you other euros share my sympathy.

Ive been watching all these players on witness for a long time so I can't help but be invested and happy of their
achievements, not for the region tho but for all of them as individuals, this was a befitting victory to their stories. Well done Witness EU

Sorry for the peaceful nerd essay but the vibes in this thread was fucking awful.
