BrenEoNI assume there won't be cheatsheet for this LAN am I correct?
If we're doing the same as DHS (99% sure we are) then yeah no cheat feed.
Hasn't cheat feed been used at the past 2 iseries though? Would love to see it used if possible, the camerawork at the last 2 events has been spectacular, capturing pretty much everything. I think iseries has historically had more/better pcs for production than dreamhack?
In any case extremely hyped to be attending.

IIRC production will not be using the cheat feed this time (they didn't use for Dreamhack too) since they'd like to add crowd reactions to the stream too, which become hard if you're using the cheat feed.

To be honest, I'd rather have the cheat feed and catch all the action than see crowd reactions.

I'm not sure the best place to put this, but please for the love of god. All articles about this event should have spoiler free titles. None of us care what CS website you're trying to emulate, just gain some common sense and realize that it harms literally no one to have a spoiler free title.

I was sceptical about not using the cheat feed at DHS but after seeing how much more reliable and easy to set up everything was I was hooked. Using the cheat feed means every single camera we use apart from the caster camera has to be delayed by 90 seconds and it makes pauses more confusing because Valve hasn't yet fixed the bug where the game and STV pause at the same real time despite the game being 90 seconds behind. That one still trips casters up never mind the audience which will be much less aware of something like that at i58. Crowd shots don't really factor into it, what matters is the player shots.
The point of being at a LAN is that you're all there in person and getting that across to the viewers is a million times more difficult with a delay than without. We sacrifice catching some extra stuff on the stream for a significant upgrade to the production quality of the stream. Aside from missing some things at DHS I thought my camera work was pretty good. I usually don't do camera work blind and I have no gamesense since I haven't played in 2 years but it still came out fine. This year we also have ondkaja who is a top prem medic and has experience both with and without the cheat feed so he should do just fine helping me too.
I'm one of the biggest proponents of the cheat feed but it's entirely impractical in a LAN setting.

Streep36Are the ingame jerseys being done again? Those are soo sickk
We'll likely be doing team jerseys for the Invite teams (i.e. Froyo, Crowns, Jasmine Tea, Full Tilt)

Everything looks impeccable so far, it will be nice to have a true analysis desk with a desk host to bounce feedback off of. EXtine's appearance will make the event's main voice less awkward and I'm sure many new players will recognize him from the top 10 plays, will he be doing the interviews btw? if not who is planned?. Sideshow and Bren co-operate amazingly well as casters and I think bren really comes into his own on LAN. I presume we have stage this year, will this mean that the finals will be much like that of i46 where the casters can't talk about spies and stuff with 0 delay? I'm sure the production is going to be amazing and hopefully beats last years numbers/quality.

I don't think casters bleeding into players audio is going to be an issue, the headsets we're using are the same ones we used at DHS and they did a fantastic job of blocking out almost all noise, add to that the fact that the players are further away from most of the sound compared to DHS (I think), leads me to believe it won't be an problem.

Yes, he'll be doing interviews throughout the entire event.
BBiA_duchessWhat happened to gecks i really liked his casting
Unfortunately, gecks won't be able to go to i58 this year due to work commitments that he has.

In the case of 0 stv delay, I don't think the casters' audio will be an issue but the stream was also being projected on a big screen, is this going to be in another room like i52, or the same large room like i55 because the latter could be visible from players' seats which might be an issue.

Will there be an actual grand finals stage so that we can look like an eSport, or are we going camping in a tent again?

Hey, I made i58.tf redirect to this thread, but also made a few redirections for FROYO and Full Tilt fundraisers
(available at froyo.i58.tf froyotech.i58.tf full.tilt.i58.tf full-tilt.i58.tf fulltilt.i58.tf). If anyone wants a redirection to an URL that's somewhat serious, hit me up.
(DNS stuff seems to be slow, I'll check up on it soon to see if it's actually broken. Seems to be taking ages for now)
